yeah she's an idiot, but the other two on that podcast seemed to be pretty high on Harden. If the media really doesn't give Harden any credit because of CP3 acquisition even though Harden is leading his team to 1st in WC during his absence, that would be a travesty. Jordan's Bulls team won 55 games when he first retired, what does that say about his 5 MVPs? Your team really has to be stacked to the gills like GSW to be disqualified from MVP race. I don't think Houston is in that situation.

CP3 isn’t the reason for not giving him credit, it’s just the latest excuse.

The most recent winner, Russell Westbrook, is the first to have played for a team that failed to win at least 50 regular-season games since 1982

8 more wins in the "Wild West" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 1 more uncontested/stat-padding rebound per game

Reggie says the guys have gotten better around Harden (they have) the guy Reggie points out is, wait for it.. RYAN ANDERSON! LMAO!

Now, I know I have gone on rants about the merits of Ryan Anderson and what he brings besides shooting with his defense, but he isn't the one to point to saying "the guys have gotten better". EGO, Tucker, Capela, Luc, those are the guys you point to. Remember when media said the Rockets let go of all their depth.. the contortions..

Sure. He'll have a shot. But as long as the media's in charge of who wins, Harden won't win.

wait, are you're saying 18 game injured Durant playing in a superteam (who actually won more games the year before and won the ring 2 years before) with a top 5, top 10, top 20, top 50 player was robbed of the MVP?

No can't be MVP if he's not even best on his own team.

Harden isn't flashy, isn't blessed with a 44 inch vertical, can actually shoot 3s, doesn't dunk enough, and is far too efficient to win MVP. Westbrook and Giannis both **** their pants when they have to take a shot from 22 feet out, and when defenses clamp down on them during the playoffs, they meltdown and go 6-24 from the field, but dammit they make 6-24 from the field look sexy as hell with all those pull-up bricks, reckless drives to the rim that turn into charge fouls, and plays so spectacular that not even they have any hope of making the basket. Worst of all, his actually makes his teammates better, which means he has too much help! Don't give me no "But he's an overrated, inefficient chucker" crap, the great Charles Barkley said that all you stat nerds are LOSERS who couldn't get the girls in high school!

Yet, Harden is too big, too ugly, and too genetically gifted with strength and body control to be marketable like the media's favorite light skinned, babby-faced soft 3 point sniper Stephenie Curry! Who's compact 6' 3" frame makes him marketable and inspirational to asian manlets, after all, you don't need freakish athleticism, impeccable body control and endless stamina to be an NBA player, just a silky smooth jumpshot! Harden, on the other hand, is only marketable to flyover hicks from one third of Texas, which isn't on either coast so they aren't relevant, and tall, black, beard enthusiasts, what kind of market-base is that?

And don't get me started on his playoff collapses! This man sets the bar lower than anyone even remotely worthy of an MVP, could you imagine a clutch performer like Westbrook or Curry blowing a 3-1 lead? I sure can'!

    8. James Harden
    Rockets | SG | @JHarden13

    • Last year's rank: 8
    • 2017-18 projected RPM: 5.17
Stats & Info: Harden scored or assisted on 4,538 points last season, exactly one point shy of Tiny Archibald's NBA record set in 1972-73. With Chris Paul in town, Harden figures to spend more time off the ball which could spell trouble for opposing teams. Harden ranked in the 91st percentile in points per play on spot-ups last season.

    7. Chris Paul
    Rockets | PG | @CP3

    • Last year's rank: 7
    • 2017-18 projected RPM: 8.15
Stats & Info: At the league's most loaded position, Paul once again led all point guards in real plus-minus in 2016-17 while finishing second league-wide behind only LeBron James. How Paul and James Harden jibe on the offensive end will be under the microscope all season, but it's worth noting that Paul is the only point guard who's a defensive upgrade over Patrick Beverley, who finished second among point guards in defensive RPM. The gap between Paul and Beverley is the same as the gap between Beverley and the 20th-ranked defensive point guard.
