We're just gonna act like Capela isn't on this?

Also LeBron-fatigue from his winning the two previous years.

They want to give it to Kyrie so the narrative is " well he spent all those seasons with the king, who was a father figure to him". Also its Boston.

I think Harden knows the fix is in and he is balln out of his mind. Can u imagine the narrative if Cp3 was playing while we were winning these games????

If he keeps playing like this, there’s no way they don’t give it to Harden. Like, none.

But when CP3 comes back and shares the load, Harden’s numbers will inevitably go down, which is good for the team, but may hurt his chance. Think GSW

Team success in post season trumps everything IMO. I get it it's injustice for Harden, at least media can't rob finals mvp.

Call me a cynic, but I have a feeling CP3 will periodically miss games throughout the season. So Harden's numbers won't suffer too much.

Oh. Actually Rockets fans from China are also discussing this issue recently and they had some really irony in their threads.
Somehow I find the real reason we support Harden's MVP and feel unfair about excuses they will use for denying Harden MVP is that:

THE REAL WORLD ISSUE AROUND US IS SO FREAKING UNFAIR AS WELL.
Yes. Think about the discrimination we have faced. Think about the glass ceiling we couldn't break. Think about the weird standard for some jobs(they often had really specific descriptions, which actually points to exactly some guy). Think about the cases that there are pains but no gains and those bad guys take things and honor which belongs to you .

So, people keep telling me NBA is just a SHOW and I shouldn't be so annoyed. But I think the phenomenon is just a reflection of the mess of the society.

Yes. We are just going to ignore it.

What we're NOT going to ignore, however, is that we need to trade Capela for Nerlens Noel obviously.

The reason he'll get denied? Simple.

"I love Harden, Harden is great, I'm not a hater. BUT. ___name here___ is too good not to win the MVP."

As soon as I hear it, I'm flipping over the table in front of me.

In the "Wild West" as you say,

    55 Wins >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 47 Wins

    and it ain't no coin-flip

    66 > 55 Wins --- yet Durant finished 9th in MVP voting
    61 > 55 --- yet Kawhi finished behind Harden

    2017 PER
    Westbrook - 30.6 - league leader
    Harden - 27.4

If James averaged a tri-dub with 47 wins, we'd all proclaim he was worthy. But since the shoe is flipped, "no way in hell should that win".

it's wayyyy too early in the season to start talking about MVP. harden could slump or pull a no show for a few games, and someone else steps up

Giannis and his 8-7 record is 1B to Harden and his 11-3 record...

Smh, Harden should be the clear favorite right now, and it shouldn’t even be a discussion. We all know that if Harden’s team was 8-7 and he was putting up the numbers that he is now he wouldn’t be 1B in the race to anybody, he wouldn’t even be in the conversation.

Having another all-star/superstar as your running teammate does not disqualify you from winning an MVP. By that standard, literally 95% of past MVP winners are undeserving, including Magic, Bird, Jordan, Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, LeBron, Durant, Curry, etc. GSW is different from Houston because they now have 4 all-stars (one of them being DPOY) and 2 superstars. That seems too much, but if Houston wins 60+ games this season and Harden puts up respectable numbers with only CP3 being his superstar/all-star teammate, he will have a legitimate shot at the MVP.
