Doesn’t matter how much they practice if they don’t have the drive, natural ability, and talent. Has to be a perfect storm with natural ability and talent being the two biggest factors.

Good luck though, I hope that you can help them make it happen.

My 8u basketball team has advanced to the finals. This is too stressful for me as the coach. I leave the game with my heart beating fast and hands shaking and then I think about our next game and how we can impove for the next 24 hours 7 days a week. Respect to any coach out there

Throwing some chairs around will help relieve that stress.

Height and talent, and immense will power and still enough IQ on the court.

High school senior players who go on to play NCAA men`s basketball: Less than one in 35, or 2.9 percent. ... -- High school senior players eventually drafted by anNBA team: About three in 10,000, or 0.03 percent. That's roughly the chance of getting four of a kind in the first round of draw poker. That is if you first make it to your high school varsity basketball team, a big if for vast majority of the kids.

I think the hardest part is access to sound knowledge and education, once you get that, train on those skills, mentally and athletically, and then applying it is the easy part because everyone likes playing. Getting information is easy due to the internet, but you also need interaction with those experts and simulation to change behavior.

Really depend on your drive and work ethics. And a little talent wouldn't hurt at all. I mean Jordan was once cut from his high school basketball team. Now you know the rest. Good luck on your endeavors.

Just to be fair, you don't have to be drafted to make it to the NBA.

    I mean,
Your first stat is ratio of HS players to NCAA players.
Your second stat is the ratio of HS players to the number 60
Shouldn't it at least be the ratio of HS players to NBA players

So, to match your first stat, it's the ratio of HS players to 510 (17 x 30). Plus, why not count every new player who breaks in for at least 1 contract for the next 10 years (the kid's prime). Willing to bet the real number is around 800 kids make it every 10-yr span.

No argument here, just trying to keep Daddy @cheke64's hopes up.
