This is the part where I care.. wait... nope. I was wrong. You may now continue your neighborhood-stick-in-the-mud routine as usual.
Not gonna lie, man, that Valkyrie chick you all love just doesn't do it for me. Sure I'd gig, but crying over it like y'all, not feeling it.
I'll admit it.... I've purposefully avoided all Marvel comic movies. I haven't even seen the first Iron Man and the one I can remember checking out partially was Captain America: Winter Soldier just cause it was on HBO. However... I'm interested in checking this one out for whatever reason. Question is though, do I need to have seen every other damn movie in the franchise to get what is going on, or is this movie enough of a standalone piece to enjoy?
I've skipped most of them including the Thors, and I loved this one. Getting the basics of Norse mythology helps, but even without that it's clear enough.
I thought valkyrie was the name of the all-female army she was in? I thought they were called The Valkyrie. But apparently her actual name is Valkyrie. Weird. Anyway saw it on Friday. Greatly enjoyed it. Some plot holes but hey who cares. Fun movie. I'm glad Marvel let the director take this film in a new direction.
Mjolnir has been broken numerous times in the comics and is always repaired....in fact, the last time his hammer was shattered, Dr Strange helped him repair it, so maybe they go that route.
It's the name of both, technically. She has an actual name and is just called Valkyrie in the comics, in this case it's still a title, but since she's the only one left I think it's safe to call her that.
