I hoped Harden would come to the 1st Rice Basketball game of the season since he's in town and not playing tonight and he did! I'm actually in the background of this picture. After the game he took pictures with some folks but I didn't go up to him because he looked really busy with the fans. I also saw Matt Bullard and I did go up to him and shake his hand. It was a great night.
James Harden really does live for Basketball... Where is CP3? I thought they were supposed to hang out all the time... ?! Someone's wife got jealous...
What I loved about going to Rice games is how close you can get to seeing some quality opponents, especially when the SW Conf still existed. Such a small stadium with first come seating. My high school stadium was bigger than that. Aside from obvious SW Conf/Big 12 schools, also saw Okafur, Ben Gordon and Villanueva while they were undefeated....like in my favorites seats. JVG was at that game, too. First time I saw him a a Rice game. Side note: never understood why those TRGs went out for cheerleading. It's like no one cared. They somewhat got ridiculed. icymi: Harden's High school coach is coaching the Owls now. He has special interest, and goes to a lot of games.
I walked right by Jim at UH football game a couple years ago and he was just walking around by himself like nothing surprisingly.
Life is just life no matter what position you hold in society. I just hope Harden isn't the secretly depressed type that kills himself somewhere down the road.
