We all know this will happen. The year they gave it to Steph, they used wins as the reason. Last year it became about Russ' HISTORIC (but inefficient and less wins) year.
Harden is cooking again this season. List the reasons you think the voters will use to deny him.

    1. His playoff performance is the reason he shouldn't win the MVP this season. (of course ridiculous but bet some use that).

    2. Russ deserves it again because he isn't hogging boards and forcing assists for a triple double.

    3. Kyrie has just become such a willing passer and the Celtics are winning.

    FVCK em all.

List the reasons you think THEY will give

Kyrie is gonna win it. I was watching opening night live like the most of us, and the second Hayward snapped his leg I called it right then and there. MVP is storyline based, and that was the perfect setup for it. Leave LeBron... team suffers huge loss... Celtics get a high seed in the terrible lEast and bang he wins MVP.

unless he really ups his stats he won’t get it

the media is hoping that the Bucks can win around 48 games and be a top 3 or 4 seed in the East so that they can give it to Giannis

And that was set up before the season aswell. Giannis exclaimed he'll be an MVP candidate, BSPN/SC/FOX all hopped on the question and hyped him to hell. Bucks will definitely get home court if Giannis continues his play.

#99- Harden scores too much and gets his teamates to involved in the game.

#100- he's just too damn good.

I bet all Giannis has to do is crack .500 and he'd get it over Harden. Hell, I could even see them giving it to one of the GSW dudes or Kyrie if the Celtics keep winning. But they won't give it to Harden no matter what.

Giannis gets it. They're already using every chance they get to mention him with the MVP Award in the same sentence.
If he gets 45+ wins, it's his.

    Harden's moved up to No. 1. #MediaConspiracy

In all seriousness, though, I think this year it's Harden's for the taking. Lebron's Cavs are struggling, Kawhi won't play enough games, Giannis' Bucks won't have the wins, Kyrie won't have the stats, Westbrook and the Thunder are abysmal, and Durant and Curry could cancel each other out again. Throw in the fact that Harden is a two-time runner-up, and I think Harden has to be the favorite after the first 10 games of the season.

The Curry MVP didn't ultimately bug me that much. The Warriors had more wins, and Curry's numbers were a little better. I know that's not a popular opinion on Clutch Fans, but it's a fair one. But the Westbrook win still just doesn't make any sense to me. The Thunder were the inferior team, and the only area Westbrook had an obvious edge was rebounding. Harden was the more efficient player and clearly had the better season. Take away the triple double average, and no way Westbrook wins that award.

NBA does not want beard to win the MVP but they know they have to acknowledge him somehow to make it look fair. So they are front loading the accolades, give him player of the month and then cut him off. Most of the awards will go to player of their choosing at around season's end.

He has 2 All-Star's playing with him (Paul and Gordon), 2 Defensive Player of the year candidates (Luc and PJ) and a top 5 Center (Capela)
