Andre Johnson was a different beast athletically but Hopkins does things that WR shouldn't be able to do. He makes it seem so effortless kind of like Randy Moss without as much speed. His effectiveness as a route runner and his ability to tip toe is just insane... IMO makes him better than Dre.

Hopkins will have better statistics at the end of his career than Dre (that stat shows this to be true or at least on pace...). He's a Future HOF. Just needs to stay healthy.

Raw talent maybe, Andre was a better physical specimen. Nuk has way better hands than Andre ever had, more agile in the open field, more versatile, fights for balls better, and comes up big when it counts. Nuk runs routes just as good as Andre did. Nuk reminds me of James Harden a bit, not physically imposing but still has all the tools and skills to routinely beat you.

Andre was also in a quality offensive system for Kubiak's entire run. Nuk has had to deal with BOB and a dozen QBs.

    AJ
Do we forget the early years for AJ in the Dom Capers/David Carr offense. AJ didn't have Schaub throwing to him until his 5th season in the league. Hoyer and Fitz both had better seasons in Houston than Carr ever did.

Andre did that (1,500+ yards) 3 times and was on track to do it 2 more times but got injured.

Yep! Pretty good player. He hit those 1500+ yards from age 27.

Hopkins should be raring to go once he hits his straps at 27

AJ was better than Hopkins has been so far. AJ was also a great blocker when he needed to be.

It would be awesome if he does but it has been extremely rare historically

Not enough people are talking about Hopkin's season.

    1st in WR TDs
    4th in yards
    2nd in first downs
    6th in receptions
    2nd in 20+ yard receptions

Came into season with a thumb injury, after signing that big contract and he's still getting better.

Ravens DBs ripped his jersey to shreds they were holding him so much, and he still got his 125.

In his 5th season, Nuk is working his way into the Andre Johnson conversation. Now AJ had 1500 yard seasons in his 6th and 7th years, so that's the next bar and it's a high one... but I'm not counting him out.

Now this was a good pick.

Good pick (by Kubiak) and good extension. Wish we kept more of the Kubiak/Wade guys

I think Lance Z calls Nuk a "ball winner" ... in that respect he's the best in the league and may go down as one of the best ever.

He seems to struggle to get a lot of separation but he makes up for it with timing of his jumps, hands, and positioning himself to make a play.

Re: Andre and Nuk, they're both very different. Andre's route running combined with speed, acceleration, and then physicality once he had the ball was where he shined. He'd get wide open and then burn past you or go through you. Hopkins isn't blazing fast and won't get by you often once he catches it, but he goes up and gets a jump ball so well.

I think everyone has noticed but Texans aren’t going anywhere so it’s not as exciting

So Rick Smith is at fault for all these picks but any good ones were from the past regime? Got it.

I think he will have several phenomenal years with DW4 and his style and skill set ages better than 80s. If F5 and any TE stays healthy (which has a better chance with DW4 because he throws them away from collisions where As the Tominator throws them in to collisions), Nuk might not get the gaudy yardage but will have plenty of TDs.

What a great contract this turned in to.

He improved his YAC the last two offseasons.

He is extremely hard to tackle now.

    SPIN MOVE!!!!
