Yes it's a serious question. You walk around in your life and are actually embarrassed because only 10,000 fans show up for a basketball game?

Rockets were selling $1 beer before playoff games to get people there sooner.

They should move tip-offs to 7:30.

What are u even talking about? Yeah, it’s embarrassing when it’s game time and nobody is there. I don’t walk around all day thinking about the sh*tty atmosphere at TC, but when the game starts I definitely do.

I was always under the impression the tickets were too damn high, but Les didn't care because his season ticket holders and executive suites were always sold out. So basically ppl like you & me weren't a priority.

I don't understand how the sorry azz Texans have more fan support than the Rockets do. The Rockets have been consistently competitive for a long time

Just seems odd to me that you go to a game, see a bunch of empty seats, and become flush with embarrassment over something you have no control over. The empty seats cause you to feel shame or awkwardness or humiliation or discomfort or distress or self-consciousness (all synonyms for embarrassment).

My advice (not that you'd want it) is to save your embarrassment for something you or your children do and not let the Rockets attendance issues cause you consternation.

I think most NFL teams sellout their games.

There's only 8 games vs 41 and each game is more important than a single NBA or MLB matchup.

so as a Rockets fan it’s odd that I view the lack of attendance and weak atmosphere for a team this good as embarrassing...you’re right, I don’t want your advice...Tilman needs to find a way to improve these issues

    Don't be a fan, essentially.

If you aren't bummed that the Toyota Center isn't a rockin', well you shouldn't come on Clutchfans a knockin', El Dudo.

Of course, you can view it however you want. It's just a foreign concept to me to be embarrassed by a team's attendance woes.

So, if I'm not embarrassed by a team's attendance woes, I'm not a fan? If I watch and cheer for the Rockets, through thick and thin (which I've done since they drafted Elvin Hayes and played in San Diego), regardless of their home attendance, I'm not a fan because I'm not embarrassed by the lack of fans in the seats? OK. got it.

a team like the Rockets should be playing in front of a packed house all the time...I don’t know how u can see a dead arena and empty seats everywhere for a 55+ win team and just be cool with it...that’s foreign to me

This is exactly the way I feel. I can't get out of there without spending a damn fortune, especially if I'm with the lady and not a bro (bc I'm paying for everything). Then I get stared at when I yell/stand/cheer. Upper bowl atmosphere is totally different though

I get embarrassed for my city the same way I'd get embarrassed for my school if nobody was going to a playoff game for the beginning of it

yeah, I agree with moving the start time back...it can be hard sometimes to get to the game on time with that 7 p.m. tip...especially if u want to eat before the game

I think that @heypartner said that the fans have told Rockets personnel that they prefer the 7 start time tho

If fans being bothered by our city not showing up for playoff games is inexplicable to you, OK, GOT IT indeed.
