His team is 5-4 this year and had a losing record in each of his first two seasons. Davis’ team is 5-5.

You’re not very bright, are you?

KAT can't play D, I'd take either guy over Towns.

    AD.

KP is a monster though, hopefully his conditioning is up to par this year because he hit a wall in the 2nd half of the season last year.

Is this a serious question? I'm a Knicks fan and I would take Davis over him in a heartbeat.

    KAT? Really?

KAT is easily the most overrated young player. His defense is so bad. Like really bad. So bad that you wonder why it is that bad, because he should be a good one (body, length etc.)

    I'd take AD.

No one really plays defense anyway.

AD does. Really good as well.

    Edit: Porzingis too (AD better)

Porzingis reminds me a lot of Yao. The way he moves, his height, his shots, his dunks. He looks to be just a tad bit more aggressive than Yao. He's not as massive as Yao got, though, and for the sake of his feet, he needs to stays that way. I also wonder if he'll ever accept his future as a center.

Thats what im saying. Maybe im biased and my sample size is too small because KAT always dominates the rockets?

Admittedly I dont watch a lot of knicks, pelicans, or twolves games unless they are playing the rockets but KAT always seems to go HAM on us

Towns is if not THE worst, in the bottom two in defence from all Centers in the league.
It was understandable if he was a rookie. But it's his third year now and he actually is getting worse every season.

Maybe Davis and Porzingis aren't DPOY caliber defenders, however Towns is in another category alltogether.
    He's a center not a pg or a wing.
Defence is what matters the most in that position.

If you're going to make a statement this specific, you should be able to quantify it. Towns has been very bad, but having seen all of his games so far this year he definitely shows flashes of competence, and his defensive rebounding makes up for some of his shortcomings.

I know he was last in DRPM last year, but I'm not convinced that he's definitively worse than Channing Frye, Speights, Kanter, Jokic, or Okafor, just to name some guys off the top of my head. Does his defense grade dead last in any other statistical categories?

    Davis

No why. I see him being a tad tougher. Also Towns if available.

Anthony Davis is an incredible player but even playing in the West shouldn’t you be able to lead a team to at least the 8th seed every single season? Is that unreasonable expectations for a transcendent player like him? His teams haven’t been completely devoid of talent.

I’d take him over Porzingis but I could see that gap narrowing quickly.

I want to see more games out of Porzingis, but he's looked great so far. Love his effort protecting the rim.

I would take Giannis over all of them (i know he's not a PF center)

    Op, great topic

The unicorn over the brow, all day.

Besides Harden highlights, I check out Prozingis highlights.

Prozingis is just sooo comfortable this season. He is murder on the post, great footwork, low post position and a plethora of shots.

Unfortunately for Davis, Gentry has turned him into a bigger jump shooting stephanie curry.

Porzingis is having a really sick season so far. 30 points a game on 60% true shooting. That is Superstar type numbers.

Porzingis is a MUCH better defender than AD. Not even close, last time I checked.

I would probably take Porzingis mostly based on injury history. AD always seem to be injured throughout the season
