I'm glad we fired the guy who was responsible for giving this guy a massive contract and wasting a year of awesome defense (George Godsey)

Normal team: $72M/$37M guaranteed - didn't work out? YOU'RE FIRED!
Texans: $72M/$37M guaranteed - didn't work out & traded with 2nd round pick? - YOU'RE PRAISED! "I couldn't believe that Rick was able to pull it off," McNair said. "It's unbelievable. Everybody around the league, their jaws are still hanging open."
    ;)

McNair is always happy to get a $10 million dollar rebate on a bad purchase, team/fans be damned.

This signing would be the demise of the Texas for years. Smith signed him sight unseen. Gave up 2nd round pick to get rid of him. Now no 2nd in upcoming draft which could be a very high 2nd round draft pick. Maybe they should have just cut him after all and kept the 2nd rounder. Now, used the upcoming 1st round pick to move up in the draft which now could be a top 10 or maybe top 5 pick. Smith in the draft with 3rd round picks and below are total busts. So next year's additions will be free agents and low round draft picks. Thank goodness we have at least 1 winner in Houston.

The first error was bad enough, but the owners got involved.

But compounding it be selling your 2nd round pick was all Rick's genius.

I mean, what NFL teams sell draft picks for cash???

What was funny too was many in houston thought the trade to rid of osweiler was a genius move by smith.

And then Rick got an extension right after signing Brock.

We also let Brooks and Jones go that same off-season, going from one of the best OLs to one of the worst.
