Time for a great start, every quarter 30+ points, lots of running, Harden scoring 40+ and everyone with great energy. Just watched a 1991 Rockets game and they would use their defense to push the pace and if the duo of Kenny Smith - Maxwell could push the rock the way they did, Harden and Ego should be able to too!!
Small sample size, but still ridiculous we don't adapt. You cannot just keep shooting threes hoping it will get back to the mean.
I kind of do. EGo has been ice cold and takes more attempts per game than anyone. He couldn't miss during the preseason taking the same kind of shots. He can only get better especially when CP3 gets back and EGo goes back to the 2nd unit. Plus, the team is 5th in TS% so they're still efficient despite shooting terrible percentages from deep.
Fair enough, but that's Gordon though. We know he's better than this. The others, not so sure. Ryan is only one shooting decent enough. What I mean is, they need to work harder and have different ways of getting those shots. Most of our threes come from one pass, a screen and one or two passes, a drive and then kick out, off of a rebound and maybe an extra pass or 1-on-1. There's so many more ways to get those threes and we're just keeping it simple. Also our passing has not been sharp. TNT commentators pointed it out @ NY that a three was missed because the pass was off, therefore our guy (I think it was Gordon or Harden) had to gather it from too low and kind of rush so not a good release. Harden is also one of the main guys guilty of throwing sloppy passes, too low or too wide. That needs to change.
