Funny how everyone craps on a move not working until the season starts. Once the season starts, people arent as inclined to make definitive and overly simplified statements that could backfire like “harden and paul will never work”

I like the ringer. It is usually smart analysis and doesnt seem super biased like espn writers

I was listening to the Bill Simmons annual over-under NBA predictions podcast yesterday, and O'Connor is extremely high on the Rockets. He was really confident in taking the over for them (which is set at 55.5) and thinks they'll top 60 wins.

If they are indeed the greatest Offense in history, topping 59 wins is like nothing.

I don't know, the whiners in the game thread last night were pretty convincing that the thing is doomed to fail . . . NAY, has already failed. I'm ready to have Frittata blow it up

Wow this guy missed the bunny lay up stat to pull for this.

    ORtg [On-Off] 2016-2017

    James Harden: 117.0 | 110.3

    Chris Paul: 118.8 | 107.3

So if the Rockets really can keep one of these guys on the floor at all times and their ORtg is similar to last year's then it would blow 115.6 out of the water.

Article also fails to mention that CP3 had the highest on/off differential of any franchise player last year, bigger than LeBron: +19.6

It also fails to mention that CP3 has the best career ORtg off all time: 122.7

Read O'Connor's article. He lists the top 10 greatest offenses of all-time by Offensive Rating:

    1. 86-87 Lakers: 65-17
    2. 16-17 Warriors: 67-15
    3. 91-92 Bulls: 67-15

    4. 87-88 Celtics: 57-25 (ECF appearance)
    5. 09-10 Suns: 54-28 (WCF appearance)
    6. 95-96 Bulls: 72-10
    7. 94-95 Magic: 57-25 (Finals appearance)
    8. 86-87 Mavericks: 55-27 (lost in 1st round)
    9. 94-95 Supersonics: 57-25 (lost in 1st round)
    10. 16-17 Rockets: 55-27 (lost in 2nd round)

The bolded teams won titles, and three of the other teams cracked the final four. Seven of the 10 also won at least 57 games. Also, it's worth noting that the Rockets defense was hardly awful last season. I believe they were middle of the back by most defensive metrics. And despite losing Beverley, the additions of Paul, Tucker and Mbah a Moute should only help.

Ppl are drinking too much kool-aid. Sure it's possible but we're completely forgetting the Warriors (who are the #2 best offense in NBA history last year). I'm predicting them to win 70+ this year if they are healthy.

We've already seen what the Warriors can do and their chemistry will only get better after winning a title. Meanwhile, CP3 and Harden's off-ball movement leaves a lot to be desired. I don't even know if D'antoni is stressing that in practice, seems not. Harden in OKC was constantly running around off-ball for dunks and open 3s.

This thread is upbeat and positive while the other is negative. People love to b**** and complain.

You make it sound like it's a linear trend. It ain't. We're not beating the Warriors, and any top tier team will beat us in a best of 7 if we play this gimmick offense with zero variety.

    Anyone see this crap?

The Ball Buster said Morey doesn't no nuthin

    "
On Thursday, Clay Skipper of GQ posted a profile on Draymond Green.

One element of the article details a conversation between Skipper and Draymond from back on June 22:

“It’s so funny sitting back and watching this sh**,” he (Draymond) starts, before pausing to pull his phone out of his jeans, looking through the Golden State Warriors’ group chat.

He wants to relay something that Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey had said in an interview, reacting to the Warriors' title. The team had texted it to each other. Then he pauses, scoffing at Morey’s comments.

“What the f**k are you talking about? They are really trying to rethink their whole strategy” -- here he bumps a table repeatedly with his hand for emphasis, getting excited -- “because teams know they don’t have a f**king clue.”

    What this guy said.

We'll have a great and fun RS. Will be a joy to watch. But when it comes to being playoff equipped, we're nowhere near there.

Let’s call out the 800lb gorilla about the GSW’s.

It’s obvious that those bastards are Satanist’s that have collectively sold their souls to Lucifer in exchange for injury free seasons. I say this is the year that contract expires and at LEAST two of their starters go down and down hard for a long time.
