The 300,000 to zero post didn't pan out last week. That being said we are playing the Browns this week so...

    Texans 42
    Browns 17

    Deshaun has 5 td again!

P.S. We appreciate the threads @Castor27 . Hope everything gets back to normal with the quickness.

Good defenses come and go quickly. A star QB can lift us up for a decade or more. Go Stros, go Rockets, go Texans!!!

Hey, we got Deshaun, they got Deshone. You can all the sudden flip them.

Agreed, and this offense is REALLY young, our oldest playmaker just got signed a massive extension. If we build the Oline and secondary in draft and FA we could immediately turn around and be good for a while.

A team is nothing without defense, just ask the Saints. They've had one of the greatest QB's in NFL history and they've had 1 winning season in the last 5 years. Now sure they won a SB 8 years ago but IMO that was partly due to running into another all offense no defense team in the SB and is more of a fluke type thing than anything.

Having a great QB is an awesome thing to have, but by itself it's nothing.

I could be wrong, but their SB team was due to having a defense that caused the most turnovers in the NFL. So even then, they relied heavily on defense.

Very good point. They forced 39 turnovers that year, 2nd in the NFL.

Also, if you look at the Patriots, they've never won a SB without a top 10 rated scoring defense even with Tom Brady.

People tend to overrate QB's and underrate defense, but you aren't getting much without both.

    QB
    Defense
    Coaching
    Running Game/O-Line

You need to be really good in 3 of this 4. You can be elite in 2 and then just decent in a third. But you need more than one.

We don't have to have a top 5 but we can't be up there with the colts in points against. And it's inexcusable for our Dbs to lose track of the opposing receivers the way they do due to a busted coverage. You expect that from rookies or 2nd year players not vets.

Right now we're 28th, if we can find a way to get into the top half of the league, then I'll have some confidence in this team. Let's make no mistake, the defense was bad even before Mercilus and Watt were out.

Yep secondary stinks either way. Late game defense on all levels sucks either way.

Need to look into improving Vrabel maybe.

I've seen many people say that, but RAC is still around doing his thing.....so other than a bookkeeping change, everything is the same as last year when it comes to coaching the defense.

crazy how in one single year our offense and defense complete switched position in the rankings.. watt and merci out I know but the defense was struggling before that.

To this point and to Brees’ defense, those saints defense broke records for how bad they were. The one year the defense wasn’t horrible they won the whole thing.

I still think our front 7 isn’t terrible especially against the run, and you do have to take into consideration who the Texans got gashed by(Brady who is the goat, and Alex Smith who’s having a career year). We def still need as much defensive help as we can get, but I do think this is more of a secondary/coaching/confidence thing than a defense as a whole thing. We do need to find a pass rush tho.

All in all I think the defense corrects some things against this terrible Browns team.

Texans would be smart to attack teams like they Eagles did last night. Stop the run....Create 3rd and long situations.
