In tonight's game against the grizzlies [Yes I know it's preseason] Eric Gordon was doing some slick playmaking. His acrobatic moves and passes were nice along with his already reliable shooting. I don't except him to be our "3rd star" but I think he could be pretty darn close. He said his goal was to try and be an all star this year and he's looking improved to me.
Not saying I disagree with you, but maybe not the best night to say this when he just went 2-12 from 3.
Yep bad shooting night from CP3, harden and Gordon bit usually he's on point But honestly I was watching what stats couldn't show you, everything about him tonight showed some really good flashes of a superstar like moves and playmaking. He also looks super confident
EG's shot was off. His shot selection was poor, to say the least. Something we don't complain about when he's on fire but it is still frustrating to watch him shoot bad shots that can be taken at any point in the shot clock. There was one instance where the Tuck Wagon passed up a semi-contested corner 3 and passes to EG, who jacks up a well contested 30-footer. The extra swing pass(es) needs to be made in these instances to get the best shot possible. We have shooters all over the floor!
I agree, just giving you a hard time. This team looks solid going into the season, keep the positivity going!
People sometimes forget that Gordon was a top 10 pick. He always had the talent and potential to be an all-star, but unfortunately his career and play got derailed by injuries and being traded to an awfully ran franchise. He does have these flashes of brilliance, but he can't be a superstar because that would mean he's at the very least a top 20 player which he's not. It's not in him. At this point he is what he is. He's our microwave player. Our instant offense An elite shooter with some ball handling and play making skills. A very valuable player who plays his role on the Rockets as perfectly as he can. I'm very happy he's on the team. Only thing I wish I could change about him is making him just a bit taller lol. If he were 6-7 he'd be true killer.
You know a superstar is a more talented Allstar..... EGo has to reach the Allstar plateau first. I dun think he can reach those stats with being the 6th man. Honestly. Tonite he made 2 threes out of 12. 16 shot attempts for 12 pts........ not tonite. He will come close to being an Allstar without having many assists, rebounds, steals or blocks but no Superstar.
I feel you but at the same time its hard to blame him. You know his teammates and the coaching staff are constantly telling him "keep shooting" so he does just that.
the main reason i wanna keep eg over ryan is cuz if we ge ta big 3, we have 4 players who can make their own shot at an above avg level or greater. its hard to find a reliable high scoring option that isnt a star player. to me this is a huge vs the warriors
He definitely looks more dynamic so far this year. I hope he stays healthy. A lot of box score watchers in here. EG made some unreal plays.
This guy is hot right now in the pre-season!!! Would you of traded Eric Gordon and Trevor Ariza for Carmelo Anthony in the summer?
Gordon is the X-factor for us. He's not a superstar or even an All-star though. This place is really funny.
