    From D'Antoni's post game quote, didnt it sound like Harden might rest this game? I can't find that vid of MDA discussing the 37 minute game, and how James asked for extra playtime ... thought I heard him say James will rest. It's not the tunnel interview in the game chat, but somewhere else.

    As NBA controversies go, even those limited to brief shouts of hot takes, Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni did not expect to be hit with criticism for his team winning by too many points against another NBA team.

    He had been faulted for running up a score against in New York on Monday, with even Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek saying he was surprised D'Antoni returned his starters to the floor in the fourth quarter.


    "We were up 11," D'Antoni said, incredulous that building on an 11-point lead would be called unsportsmanlike in an NBA game. He did, however, play his regulars more than many coaches do in the preseason, with James Harden playing 37 minutes, Trevor Ariza 35. That was part of his plan for the week, with three games in five days to be used to get ready for Tuesday's opener at Golden State.


    "James came over and said to get ready, "Mike, I need to go, I need to play this last stint. Let me go,'" D'Antoni said. "Eric (Gordon has) got to play. Ryan (Anderson has) to play where they push themselves to get ready for the season. That was my mindset. Once we were up 25, I didn't notice.

    "I really wasn't worried about the Knicks. I was worried about the Houston Rockets, making sure we get ready for Tuesday. I definitely didn't mean any disrespect. I got to get our guys ready. Our schedule is to play hard on Monday, a lot of minutes, rest on Tuesday, play hard on Wednesday, rest on Thursday, and play hard on Friday, a lot of minutes. That's the rhythm we want to get into."

    It doesn't matter than Morey got mike PJ and Luc ... They will take from Clint and Andersons minutes .

    He's going to run James and Chris and Trevor and Eric into the ground .

    He's always done this , he will keep doing it .

    Every other NBA team is resting their stars and managing minutes .

    For Mike , limiting hardens minutes means going from 37 a game to 36.5 a game .

    I'm not saying 3 guard and lineups with Trevor and Luc and pj on the floor aren't some of our best combinations ... And they need time to gel ...

    BUT , Dantoni will play them to excess and have to keep them in when the other team comes back because *gasp* our shots aren't falling because guys have no legs ...

    All this crying by the Knicks is just ridiculous. The Rockets have less preseason games to get ready this year, and open up against the Champs. We have to get our rotations and stuff together, especially adding in CP3. And winning all games even in preseason is a great mindset to keep. Remember what happened 2 years ago.

    That said, Let's go Rockets!
