did James Harden have a WB and Ibaka level stars against the spurs?

and pretty sure WB, KD, and Ibaka combined didn't carry as heavy as a load as Harden last year

Players aren't remembered for the "load" they carry.

Heck, MDA was on Sirius XM NBA Radio and mentioned the "load" for Harden's Game 6 act, and when the interview was over Tim Legler basically said that exactly.

If you want to argue about who the better MVP candidate was last year between him and WB or the like, no argument here. The Rockets roster isn't great. Harden's best attribute in fact is the ability to carry this type of roster much further than you'd expect. Even in 14/15... recall Dwight was out 50% of that year.

Relative to why his playoff sucky games stand out, though, it's irrelevant. After all, with the exact same roster he also has great playoff games.

    The points remain:
    - When he's off, he doesn't contribute extensively in other ways, often exaggerating the bad game with high turnover count and bad defense
    - His off in game 6 was more than just being off, it was a mental laziness
    - He doesn't have any signature success in the conference finals or finals yet
    - He's had more off games than you'd hope from a ratio perspective... as I noted, even the best guys will have an off game here or there. But if he wants to go down as one of the all time greats... you don't get too many free passes there. The expectation that these guys shouldn't have any off games is perfectly fair.

well said, especially the 3rd point, JH needs some signature performance and wins in the conference finals and finals to take the next step...

No, just tried showing him that don't let an outlier confuse you.

I figured it's the easiest way to make my point to that challenged fella.

McHale should not have done that, especially going into a new season. Its obvious that he still has unresolved anger towards Harden and how he was fired.

Look for McHale to use NBA TV and TNT as a podium to rip Harden on the slightest mistep all season.

It was a matter of time that someone would ask him about Harden and the Rox, and he would cave anytime.

He took Bill Simmons' place as the media's Boston dipshit homer.

100% agreed, Harden's bad games are way worse than other star's bad games, he kinda just completely gives up.

He's had stinkers with a couple of different rosters with OKC and Houston in the playoffs

Did McHale set a trap for Harden and Harden walked right into it?

    Probably not.
If he was capable to develop efficient strategies, he'd have used this ability while he was a coach, which he clearly didn't.

Are you pretending to not know what we are asking or is it just another way of saying you made it up?

WHERE DID YOU GET THE NUMBERS FOR YOUR ANALYSIS?

From what I read I think there media thinks what McHale said was a bit unfair given that he hasn't been around Harden for two years.

McHale wasn't a bad coach but he wasn't a great one either. He rarely inspired his players. He said he didn't think Harden could be a facilitator and he's looks like an idiot for saying that.

McHale comes off looking worse here. He gave his criticism in a brutal and unprofessional way that was contradicted by MDA. He sounds really bitter
