It's Pops team. He's the leader. Westbrook doesnt get mentioned cause this was his first year as top dog, and he got the pity party for it.

WB got this love, cause he was/is the new NBA face. They couldn't use Curry anymore, and the narrative led it to WB given where cupcake went.

Their ratings were getting shitted on, obviously you know the whole lay off thing. WB was literally their savior for hype. ****ing pathetic. Everything he did you don't want to promote. How can a guy avg 10apg, and not make a single teammate better?

He'll continue to not enter the conversation too with PG and Melo on his team. Which will actually be quite interesting.

When Lebron went to Miami, you knew who was going to be their leader even though Wade was there. KG going to Boston. KD going to the Warriors, you knew Green would still be the vocal one there. But with OKC, who takes that role definitively?

Nobody, cause this year is a gap year. If it combusts, it'd be oh Melo and PG are cancers. They'd bring back the whole PG being mad at Miles, Melo sulking in NYK.

If it suceeds, and they re sign. Then the narrative starts. Westbrook was a tremendous leader. And he changed two losers into winners.

Remember this isn't the first time Mchale has thrown Harden under the bus, this is like the 3rd time already.

Its easy to say dont get rattle what everyone says about you but we all know nobody can not care what other people say about them.

McHale has been chirping for a long time now. Harden is in the right.

    Insider alert!

If only Harden was more professionally credible... MDA would've won COY; Gordon would've contended for Sixth Man of the Year. Harden is so toxic. We can't even get an elite, future Hall of Fame point guard to play here!

It's no wonder why Le$ refused to give him a $228MM, 4-year contract extension. Also probably why he couldn't sell the Rockets for much money. Harden is so toxic, guise!

Players trust McHale's leadership and are laughing their asses off at Harden!

I didn't know that, but it's still unnecessary to call McHale a clown IMO.

Would’ve liked harden’s response to be:

“oh that guy, he owes me all of his checks”

Teams are lining up to give McHale another coaching job. Nobody wants James Harden.

I don't care what post you were responding. I just think the "prove it by his plays" comments, probably including yours, makes no sense. Great players and great leaders are not the same thing. McHale should know himself. He was a great player. But he is nowhere near being a great leader.

If Harden is going to prove himself to be a good leader, he needs not just playing great offense, but also pulling his team together when the going gets tough, not wilting under adverse circumstances. That's what great leaders do.

    you are being totally biased

Curry is a better shooter, better three pt shooter for sure , has better handles, less turn overs, and plays better defense than harden. Yes better at defense cause he actually tries...harden is a better rebounder and i'd say they are a wash in the assist or play making category. hard to compare since the systems are different but to say harden is better in all aspects is being a homer. plus curry has a two rings and doesn't flat out quit in the playoffs...

What should he call him then? Mchale clearly wouldn't stop swiping at Harden, he has done this stunt almost every time the season starts. Harden has the right to protect his own image and respond to his detractors, since ignoring them like what he did previously doesn't have any effect on Mchale.

Harden can do that with GSW as well

but Curry wouldn't have single handedly carried the rockets to 55 wins last year

Don't see how any of that's correlated. If you don't realize people think Hardens defense is a joke league wide, open your eyes.

McHale gets way too much respect and not deservingly so. That's my point.

I believe we will see much improved defense from Harden this year. Especially with the additions of CP3, PJ Tucker and Luc Mbah a Moute.

I knew this hurt James a lot...

Former coaches have to realize that when it comes to ripping stars on a national stage, it wont be pleasant. Van Gundy with TMac knows that there were times McGrady quit on the Rockets...I have yet to hear Jeff disrespect McGrady. Period. Being a leader doesn't mean that you have to be the loudest or most out spoken. Perhaps Mchale wanted Harden to be more vocal. Harden understanding this chose to stick around during Team USA, and learn how to be more of a leader... Harden is never gonna be Paul, or LBJ...He has his own thing and it works for him.

Mchale was a terrible coach. and it showed...Harden just verified it for all of us.
