[Fun] What would Rick Smith need to do in order to get fired?

I think the thing he could do to get fired would be to screw up the cap during a time when the team is no good. Given that the system they use leans on the coaches for a LOT of the input when it comes to targeting players, I don't think any number of misses in the 3rd round would do him in, it would just suggest that the coaching staff was bad at evaluating talent.

I think if Smith gets fired, it would be due to screwing up on the business side of things since that's really what he does.

 

If we get the number 1 pick in next year draft and our first and second round picks both belong to Cleveland he would have to be fired right?

 

No because he is a draft wiz and will make up for it in the 3rd rd and beyond. There's no one worth getting the 1st pick next year anyway.

Trade Watson and and this year’s 3rd rounder for Brock at the deadline and during a four game win streak. All while in the bowels of a stadium, during the 4th quarter of a game right before Watson runs for a 40+ yard game winning touchdown.

Then once he realized his mistake, he must immediately trade JJ Watt to Denver to get Watson back. Then trade Brock to the Browns along with next season’s 2nd. To seal the deal, he will hold a presser to announce that he’s changing his policy on renegotiating contracts during the season. Lead everyone on to think that he did this to end Brown’s holdout then reveal that it was to sign XSF to a 5 year $35m extension.

In response to all this Bob will fire him as GM along with OB then bring Rick back as the head coach.

 

I think Rick Smith resigning/stepping down is more likely than him getting fired.
