As far as lining up with GSW in terms of roles, I still think they fall a player short. Specifically, an all-world defender.

I think Harden can score as well as anybody, Durant included.
I think Gordon can shoot as well as Curry.
I think Paul can bring the all around game that Thompson brings.
I think Ariza can be the glue guy like Iguodala is for them.
I just don't think they have an anchor like Green.

    I agree

In fact...you could argue that Harden actually has TOO MUCH help on this team.

Great find, OP! I agree with a heck of a lot of the article. No mention of Melo. Actually a nice change having the focus purely on the current team.

Why do we have to be like GS to beat GS?

We don't have a Green, but they have no way of containing Chris Paul. None. Paul will eat them alive.

I disagree with Gordon being able to shoot as well as Curry or Thompson having an all around game

if we get Melo then Green will have a pretty difficult matchup

We don't, I'm just comparing them in terms of roles.

If we are to beat them, it's likely with someone like Ryan Anderson going off from 3. I don't think they have a real stretch 4 unless I'm forgetting someone.

Speaking of which, I think Livingston on Paul probably gives him some trouble.

An anchor? As in like a defensive minded anchor?

How many times has anchor ever referred to a shooter unless he was a brick layer?

I dont think the Rox need an all world defender, they just need a well rounded player at PF, a master of none but solid at both sides of the ball. Somebody like Ppat would be good enough.

    Nice read.

I still think we need Melo or another major piece to compete with the Warriors. This team as constructed will be the #2-3 seed behind the Warriors and possibly the Spurs again. If we get Melo, we'll have the 2nd best record in the NBA and can possibly take out the Warriors if everyone clicks properly.

You can tell the writer is a fan when he says Harden has been cookin without any backhanded reference of any sort.
