Bev ahead of Melo and Steven is the greatest player to ever walk planet Earth.... per Espn.

Wow, I love Bev, but there are 150 starters in the league. #50 implies that he would be a league-average second banana. That's quite a claim.

It's more accurate than #160. But I definitely would have gone with the 70-80 range.

I would say I put Bev somewhere in the high 60's.

Who at ESPN does these rankings? If it's all the sports writers and commentators working for them, you see a lot of their personal biases and general dumbassery, how their perceptions change by circumstance. And they certainly have players they'll want to hype. And bandwagons they'll jump off.

Carmelo is considered persona non so very grata, a soldier who no one can reach as he lays dying in the no-man's-land mud between the trenches.

"Oh, the Knicks don't have him in their promotional material to help sell the upcoming season? He's getting old and, well, kinda sucks."

"Oh, Pat Beverly is going to have the reins on the Clippers and more freedom to operate?" (Which means he'll get injured sooner or later). "Top 50!"

I'll miss Pat's fire and maybe Carmelo isn't a pup anymore but these rankings are weak. Like last year when they started Harden out at #8. The Rockets had a down season so, bang!, take a swipe at Harden. It is written.

Bev is better than most casual fans think. The disruption he causes on defense is worth his weight in gold.

He is absolutely a top 50 player in the NBA.

    Serious fans have no doubt!

    It's a numbers game,

BTW This makes Bev our second-best player last year.

Further proof Harden was the real MVP.

    100 - Anderson
    95 - Ariza
    81 - Lou
    70 - Capela
    62 - Gordon
    50 - Beverley

Beverley is not top 50 or even deserves it. Sorry.

Capela would be 25th if he played in NYC or La.

Many last summer had DMo as our second-best player until BJ screwed it all up ... that was pre-Gordon exploding in December. But even with that, DMo was still #2 on the persistent lists, like btg's and, help me out, I can't recall the others.

Bev leaves the Rockets--instantly becomes a better player.

Bev is top 100 no doubt, maybe top 75. But I wouldn't put him top 50. I think folks may be anticipating him flourishing in a larger role next season.

I don't know that Beverley is really a top 50 player, then again I think the whole list is kinda garbage to begin with and why even have one at all??? Seems stupid.

However, I do think Beverley was the 2nd most important piece on our team next to Harden last year. I can't quantify it nor will I even try but Its just like my opinion and stuff.

I thought they clearly laid out the criteria. They are ranking based on what they believe the player's output will be in the coming season. Or am I thinking of SI rankings? I don't know.

Morey is the real MVP, quietly acquired 7 top 100 players in past few years. Don't think even Warriors have this many.
