But great effort from Germany. Just unlucky to meet Spain so early. THey got a bright future ahead of them.
Welp... it was fun as long as it lasted and the match far from the beatdown I expected. Spain needed Marc to escalate from three to make it happen, that's a huge compliment for the German defense. A little more help on offense for Schröder and Theis and this one could've been real close. Wasn't too impressed with the Spaniards, still think they will win it all.
Wow, awsome game. Best ive seen in Europe in a while. Dragic was the maestro but this Doncic kid? Unbelivable he's 18. He already has a full NBA body. He could play there now easely. Dont need to wait another year.
He had that "come and get me if you can!" attitude against him after our poor 2nd quarter. That stepback 3 and especially a jumper earlier over him, when KP almost blocked the ball, were a bit risky. What can you expect from a 18y old though...no fear lol
Im curious to see Germany in a couple of years. With Paul Zipser (Bulls) and Kleber (Mavs) they have another 2 NBA players on the roster. Also Pleiss might come back with a new coach. Great potential here.
So Spain vs. Slovenia and Russia vs. Serbia in the Semis. Still think Spain will win it, but if anyone of the remaining can stop them, it's Dragic/Doncic. Should be a great match.
