this offseason a common refrain echoed from people plugged into the organization: "the offensive line isn't as bad as people think."

John Harris openly mocked people who said the offensive line was horrible. Pat d stat did as well and said something like "people in the building aren't worried about be offensive line" and was on the radio before this game saying the Oline would be fine and all the people bashing it were silly.

Yet here we are. These guys weren't just saying that though, the organization believes it. They still like xsf despite benching him two years in a row. They like Allen, they like Kendall lamm, they like Chris Clark...

Not a single free agent or cut player could have replaced people on this bad unit? Seriously?

This organization has a severe talent evaluation problem. I can't tell if they just don't know what good players look like or if they are so arrogant that they think they can make anyone play better.

I believe Giacomini was a signing that happened after he was cut from the Jets.

If anything I blame this sh** on Osweiler, if it weren't for him having no QBing ability whatsoever we would at least have our first and second rounder for next season to build on.

Now we're just digging from the scrap pile for position(s) of need that couldn't be addressed until the late rounds in this past draft. Terrible.

610 during the Texans season is full of propaganda handed down from the McNairs.

790 has much better takes. Yall should try it sometimes. On 790 they have been sending a pretty consistent message about how bad the O-Line will be.

610 knows where their paychecks are coming from. And all the positive stories/callers for Rick Smith are on 610...

Aren't they like the "flagship" station of the Texans.

It would make sense because McNair wouldn't want his flagship station bad mouthing his players, coaches, or personnel.

It's really just a hype machine for the team. Nothing more.

I only listen to 610 in the mornings because that scrub Josh Innes is unbearable...

These are the same idiots who said Brock Osweiler would be fine.

I think Brien believes in his coaching above all else

Hence some free agent scrub pickup is worth as much as a second rounder to him.

Look, fans get it. Front offices make mistakes sometimes. Missed draft picks, bad signings. Texans have been king of the lowest hill for the past few years so a lot of the warts took a while to get exposed.

What has led to the organization being in its current status with talent deficiencies and no draft picks, however, has been a top down organizational failure based on philosophy. Morey and Luhnow provide a stark contrast in how to deal with uncertainty by maximizing the probability for success and moving on from mistakes the minute they're recognized. Meanwhile the Texans are running a Charles Barkley ship, laughing at the concept of analytics as a means of improving decision making. They shoot from the hip, play loyalty games, and hold grudges with players trying to exercise leverage.

In the end one mistake, the Sua Filo over Carr pick, might strangely be the thing leading to a cascade of events that derails the BOB era. But with a GM that has no accountability and no capacity to utilize analytics, and an owner who still abides by the good ole boy mentality and meddles at the worst possible times, the organization is doomed to repeat history.

The xsf mistake is one that just keeps compounding. They keep putting him out there, he keeps getting apologists and they get forced to bench him or split his reps because they realize he isn't good

If anyone is looking forward to Cal taking over because Bob is 79 years old should consider that Bob's father lived to be 104 years old......

    Good times....

Exactly! If only we had taken Carr instead of Sooey Philly Dough, we wouldn't have had to bear the whole quarterback shuffle. Then, after that big mistake came the signing of Brock, our second big mistake. Those two choices have led to the crumbling of any progression we had made towards the top. Those two mistakes could have made all the difference in the world. Not only are we worse off now, but our future has no bright light anytime soon without even draft picks to look forward to. Thanks Mr. McNair and Rick! If only we could trade you both, and start over again.

I will continue to root for our guys who represent, but feel bad for them having to do it without what they need.

O'Brien sounded really dumb when he talked about analytics in his long interview with MAD Radio during the offseason

Well it started with letting Brooks and Jones go and replacing them with Jeff Allen.

There were also the trade up for Nix and Strong and just in general being careless with picks.

Then there's the trade away of a 2nd rounder just to get rid of Brock and trading 2 first rounders for Watson when he looks more like a 3rd rounder.

And next year's first and second we traded look like they will be very high picks.

Trust me, there is NOTHING to look forward to with Cal McNair. He's an absolute dud of a person. As our President would say, he's "low energy". The guy is a human traffic barrel. Rick Smith will be running this team for the next 25 years.....

It's hard to bear year after year. We let so many great players go, just to end up with mediocre replacements.

790 is all about Propaganda about the Rockets and Astros. They attack the Texans because they are not the flagship.

They have no incentive to attack the most popular sports team in the city. That doesnt make any sense. They are extremely realistic and its negative because the Texans are not a threat to be good.
