I think Forbes wrote a really dumb article like they tend to do a lot of times about a lot of things.

And life isn't always about who makes the most money. Sorry, but it's true.

WTF, are we seriously debating the a 5 years old article?

Still, Lin signing that contract was the right move.

    The writer's gripe:
    • He shouldn't add $5MM to the offer just so Knicks don't match it, spread it out
    • New York is a bigger market, Lin should stay in NY for Marketing $
Logic fail with the argument - If it wasn't so that NY wouldn't match it, Rockets wouldn't offered $5MM
In the social media age, large markets are less important. Still an issue, but I would argue I don't think being in Houston hurt Harden's brand. Also, getting that China money (and the Rox connection) > New York money.

As far as giving away a first round pick to trade for Lin, it's all about leverage. Rockets needed to clear cap to sign D12, and moving Lin was the only way to do it. Teams know this and reacted accordingly.

Hahaha, so now Forbes is a bunch of idiots? So are the Warriors, the Knicks, the Rockets, the Hornets, and the Lakers? Hahaha, your favorite player sucks. Go find a new internet home. We got this without you.

If he stayed in New York, his career earnings would almost certainly be higher. His heat there was real and it could be harnessed by their media. And his Chinese money isn't like Yao's Chinese money. Dude isn't even Chinese, he's an American. It's not like Lin even sells a lot of jerseys there. He didn't crack the top 15 in 2016.

Also, he might be more loved in Houston if he stayed in New York. We'd have no reason to hate the dude.

Lin is a failure as a basketball player. And you don't seem to understand that.

Asik had pretty much the same contract and we got a pick when he traded him.

When we traded Airemy, we had to give up a pick.

    Yup, Airemy sucked.

Another example of Airemy the scrub living up to his name.

A year later, Lakers didnt even bother picking him up as a free agent for peanuts.

Simply kept the pick and dumped his ass. And this was a team that desperately needed to acquire some talent.

Sent away packing by mighty Jordan Clarkson!!

Moving down the ladder, through several demotions, to the Nets.

    LOL. Scrub status confirmed.

Look at the LOFs desperately trying to save their scrub hero's reputation!

    Seriously though, he sucked.

When your own team announcers are calling you out, you know you are sucking.

He used to drive Bill Worell nuts with his decision making.

Rafer Alston who was a much better point guard than Lin had some sucking moments as a Rocket.
This is based on basketball performance.
However nothing like the disaster Lin had in Portland.
Yet nobody needs to join a website to counter that Rafer sucked.
Goes to show this Lin only fan cult is not about basketball

Do you believe everything you read in the media?

Of those teams, only the Knicks and Lakers were idiots...I think they've proven that with so many of the things they've done in recent years.

Again, money isn't everything. And do you know how RFA works? He had to sign the Houston contract...otherwise, NY would have simply offered him a lower contract.

Asik is a 7ftr...guys like Mozgov get crazy contracts just for being tall like that.

And no way the Lakers could have re-signed Lin...he didn't want to play there because he couldn't stand Byron Scott. Every player that left the Lakers that year had a much better season the year after. Byron Scott was tank-commander...

Asik got us a pick because he didn't suck.

Airemy cost us a pick because he sucked.

Lakers didn't sign Airemy because they didn't want to because he sucked.

    They rejected him.

He wasn't wanted by their fans.

He wasn't wanted by the management.

    Airemy Lin was a disaster.

But keep making excuses for your disgraced hero, because that's what you LOFs do.

    Lol

Lin is not better than Rafer Alston. That's another Lin fan lie because they are insecure of Lin's crap play at a point guard.

Rafer actually played in the NBA Finals, a team trusted him with his ball handling unlike Lin, who keeps getting his position demoted or switched to 'combo guard' because his ball handling is terrible.

Just because you went to Harvard doesn't mean you're the only one that knows what a r****d-free-agent means.
