Airemy in same company as Bev and Fisher.

    Lol

Airemy is a loser while the other two are winners.

Airemy Lin is a scrub that ran to play for the worst team in the league.

Fisher always tried his best to play for the best teams in the league.

Both Fisher and Bev wanted by contenders. Bev, defensive teams.

No one wants to trade for Airemy the scrub.

? Derek Fisher left the Lakers as free agent to join Golden State, where he started fewer games than Speedy Claxton and was replaced as the starter his second year by Baron Davis. You consider GSW one of the "best teams in the league" back then? They were 12th in the Western Conference when he was there.

Both Fisher and Bev wanted bigger roles than they could have playing next to ball-dominant SG's. Will be interesting to see if Bev can actually run a team without Harden. Clippers picked up Milo Teodesic, who has said he would only come to the NBA as a starter...let's see how much the Clippers want Bev as a starter...

Its no shame being replaced by Baron Davis lol...or coming off the bench for a young Deron Williams.

Fisher, Beverley..none of these guys are what you would run a team through but they are very good at what they are good at. Leadership, 3s, defense, toughness, grit to the team. So when they think they are something they are not, they are in for a reality check

Airemy Lin is even worse.. He is also someone that you dont want to run your team through. Even worse because he is a scrub that does not add the things that those players add. Which is why good teams do not even want Airemy.

Fisher was a scumbag but was a tough competitor and a winner. Beverly is in the same mold (minus the scumbag). Fisher was also a snake that used his daughter to move to better situation on several occasions to have a chance to play for contenders.

If Airemy Lin had even an ounce of fight and grit that players like Fisher and Bev have, the mental midget wouldn't be rotting away like he is and teams other teams would actually be looking at him right now.

    lol...

Yup, no shame being replaced by Baron Davis or coming off the bench for a young Deron Williams. I was disputing the notion that "Fisher always tried his best to play for the best teams in the league." He left the Lakers as a FA to find a better situation for himself joining GSW...GSW was far from one of "the best teams in the league"...that he lost his starting job to Speedy Claxton and GSW found the need to draft Baron Davis to replace him sounds very similar to Lin losing his starting job to Jordan Clarkson and LA finding the need to draft D'Angelo Russell. Then Fisher went to Utah to be backup PG as well as play SG, much like Lin went to Charlotte...played well and helped get them to the playoffs. But this is where they diverge...Fisher realized that he wasn't a guy who could run a team (even a bad one like GSW) and went back to LA, whereas Lin wanted to give it a try as he was entering the prime of his career.

Of course, this is all talk until we see how the season goes. But I certainly don't see Lin as "rotting away", and I see the Nets being in contention for a playoff spot. And don't worry...if they do get to the playoffs, I won't rub it in your face.

Worst team in the league and no one wants him = rotting away. Eh, no other way to put it lol...

And then bragging about not rubbing it in while hoping the team 'makes' the playoffs.....yes makes lol...

    OOOooooooo

    ....in a pathetic Eastern conference..lol...

    OOOOoooooo

.....when the one that will actually be running the team will be the new PG that Lakers just dumped on the Nets...lol...

I am only sad about the destruction that has happened in Houston as a result of the hurricane. Otherwise, I am happy.

Derek Fisher is not a great person, however, he was much better point guard than Jeremy Lin.

I would trust Fisher shooting in crunch time than watching Jeremy Lin turn the ball over or throwing up air balls in crunch time.

I guess the good thing is that Jeremy Lin won't try to sleep with your teammate's wife, but that's not how you judge basketball skills

    Yikes.

    :D

I'd love to see Jeff Van Gundy, Gregg Popovich or Phil Jackson respond to this statement. Anyone with any semblance of basketball intelligence can see the difference in quality of play at the highest level. You have knife-fighters, and you have soft. Jeremy Lin is Charmin.

Here's what Popovich said after Lin led the Hornets to a win over the Spurs:

And here are some thoughts on Lin from Mike D'Antoni:

Couldn't find anything recent from JVG or Phil Jackson, but rumors around NY last year were that Jackson was interested in bringing in Rondo or Lin to the Knicks...

Dude no coach will ever say another player on another team sucks.

The best way to know is actions such as stats and demotions.

Lin has been demoted by the Rockets , Lakers and traded for basically nothing.

Lin does nothing for a team, it's not like LeBron leaving Cleveland. Lin left the Lakers and Rockets and it had zero effect on anything
except hurt feelings of Lin fans who weren't even fans of those teams anyway

And? Literally none of this refutes how silly your statement is. Being that Jeremy Lin is an Asian guy that's a decent player in the NBA, reporters are going to ask coaches questions about him. Obviously they would be complimentary, just as they should be. Putting him in in a playoff game is a very different story. Kobe nailed it. Charmin...

Shall we pull up what these coaches say about 5-time world champion Derek Fisher, or First Team All-Defense (As voted by coaches) Patrick Beverley? Jeremy Lin would need a MASSIVE turnaround to be considered on the level of these players. I'm not even sure If he has accomplished more than Aaron Brooks, to be honest.

    7 years in the NBA.

    6 different teams.

He is a decent backup Point Guard, specifically in the regular season when teams aren't getting back on defense.

    lol...LOFs...

Trying to put Airemy Lil the scrub that keeps getting demoted in the same category as players that have been difference makers and key pieces on championship teams.

Like you said, these Asian reporters or LOFs etc keep asking the same questions over and over again. Every coach gets fed up with it and keeps feeding the same line. I have seen McHale, Scott, the Hornets coach, and now even the Nets coach irritated. But they have to do their job. These coaches and GMs aren't going to say player X sucks. They give a diplomatic answer but for the most part they are annoyed at being the same question over and over again about a scrub. LOFs turn the answers into verification of just how great Airemy is...

    lol

Talk is cheap. Action is where it counts. None of these people made a move for Airemy when he was a free agent.

Lebron didnt want Airemy on his team. He wanted Pat.

Pat Riley has been after Pat for a reason as well.

Ask contenders who they would want as a player, Derek Fisher or Airemy Lin. They will simply laugh at you.

I mean if he was awesome, why would be joining the Nets as a free agent? Why wasnt everyone else lining up for his services? Not like the Nets offered him a max contract lol...

Airemy Lin fans...The most insecure and delusional fanbase I have come across.

PS. Even laughing at Brooks vs Lin. Brooks was fearless for us in playoffs before Manu killed his career with his dirty play. Brooks got us to the second round and took the champions Lakers to 7 games. Airemy Lin the bonehead, on the other hand, cost us a playoff series.

So you are acknowledging that Lin is a decent player in the NBA?

No question that Fisher and Beverley are better defensive players. I've agreed with that from the beginning. They are both better 3pt shooters. They are 3-and-D guys who fit well playing along side All-Star SG's...they fit better in that role than Lin, nobody is disagreeing with that. But if you followed this entire conversation, my point is that those guys have not/did not reach their potential as a POINT GUARD (not just 3-and-D, but playmaker, scorer, etc) because of the situations they were in...and had they been in situations during their developmental years (eg. age 22-27-ish) where they had the opportunity to build their game thru experience, they would have become much better point guards than they ultimately have become. And Lin has had a similar experience...playing next to Harden and Kobe limited his opportunity to develop as a point guard...and sure, it was harder for him than for Fisher or Bev because Lin is not a 3-and-D guy, so playing the 3-and-D role was not a good fit (although his 3 and his D have both improved more than they would have had his situation been different).

Do you disagree that if Beverley or Fisher were able to play PG for teams where they handled the ball more and were in playmaking situations for more of their time early in their career that they would have become better PG's than they ultimately have? Imagine if Beverley were playing for MDA for the last 5 years on a team that didn't have a ball-dominant SG...you don't think all that experience would have made him a better PG than he is today?
