Don't see why unless they want him there for a playoff run, so no, most likely

How bout these ceiling comps for a few Astros prospects (production comps only, ignores handed-ness):

    Jake Rogers: Austin Hedges
    Garrett Stubbs: Tucker Barnhart
AJ Reed: Chris Davis (worse defense)
    Jonathan Arauz: Wilmer Difo
    Freudis Nova: Hanley Ramirez
    Colin Moran: David Freese
JJ Matijevic: Ian Happ (worse defense)
    JD Davis: Chris Davis
Kyle Tucker: Justin Upton (better defense)
    Daz Cameron: Curtis Granderson
    Jason Martin: Alex Gordon
Yordan Alvarez: Cody Bellinger (worse defense)
    Gilberto Celestino: Odubel Herrera

I did this quickly. One thing reiterated was that if a prospect strikes out >20% in the minors without hitting a lot of HR AND walking a lot (>10%), it's really hard to find a successful major leaguer who followed the same path.

I'm just getting this comment in before the usual responses.

Right. I'm immune by now. I also assume that everyone knows those comps are absolute ceilings and that the odds of any of those prospects reaching it are extremely remote.

If the Astros are promoting Forrest Whitley & Cionel Perez to AA, I wonder if they will be similarly aggressive with Corbin Martin? And maybe promote Franklin Perez to AAA?

Solis getting out of the complex leagues at 17 and in his debut season is pretty huge. It'll probably give him a mention in a top prospect list somewhere this offseason.

    Also a guy, so....

eta: Nolan loves the ass and thighs on pitchers, it's like a fetish.

Man, K Tuck is on a skid. Average down to .251. He's human after all. Hopefully he'll get it going soon and finish strong

Speculating that the Astros may want to promote a couple of the higher upside pitchers from Corpus Christi to Fresno soon. They then could compete on a more even playing field with pitching currently on Fresno's roster for a September call-up. And if they can make a big enough impression in September, who knows? maybe they could be on a playoff roster.

Borkowski would probably be the one to choose, but if they do do something like this, my first guess for
    starting pitcher: Franklin Perez
    relief pitcher: Riley Ferrell.
Yoanys Quiala could also be in the mix but he is currently suspended.
