Looking for recommendations. I currently have an ASUS ROG G73SW.

My only complaint is that it's freaking heavy so it's hard to take anywhere comfortably. Other than that it's been a juggernaut. I don't really play games, I'm grown, so fancy graphics don't matter to me very much but I do use programs like Dreamweaver and some Photoshop so I need plenty of power. It only came with 400gb which was plenty when I bought it but I'm out of room right now. I don't really follow the whole tech thing anymore, so I'm lost when it comes to getting a new one. I think I bought this one from xoticpc which allows you to customize the hell out of their laptops and have them shipped complete. I'd like to get one I can customize the same way. Whaddaya got?

I have an unlimited budget for a new work laptop. I am thinking the Lenovo X1 Carbon, 16 GB Ram, and 256 GB SSD. Any thoughts on other computers?

And I don't want a MacBook Pro - this is for work.

Got the New MacBook Pro..smooth, loving it. Was a tossup between this and the Surface Pro, but I have no regrets. This is a smooth machine.

Also don't want a MacBook. Looking for something close to the power of a desktop.

If you ever decide on going gaming again look at Asus (again) or MSI. They have some nice thin models that have 1070 and 1080 cards that are nearly the same as desktop cards. The new 1070/80 cards are the first like this, previously the m series cards were good but behind desktop cards, these are just about the same. Other options are AW and see about external gpu option (again, only if looking at gaming).

    Lastly Razer if unlimited budget...

So since no gaming, surface pro is great, or again msi/Asus or xps line (in no order), just get 1050ti/1060, but if truly never gaming integrated intel isn't bad, go i5 minimum.

    Macbook Pro without Touchbar.

In all seriousness just pick out specs from Dell or Lenovo and have them shipped to your specifications.

I went through this every time the wife or I need to replace a laptop. I got her a proper Thinkpad a few years ago. Last year I took another look around for myself and decided on a business/work laptop from Asus. Its called AsusPro series. 3 years warranty, shock tested to a degree, and pretty good internals for the price, which usually you dont get much as compared to a normal/student laptop. Highly recommend.

For your needs I'd go with Lenovo

Followed by surface pro and MacBook pro
