and that trade is Anderson and non-guaranteeds ......... then what would be the greatest skill deficiency of this roster? Taking your temperature here in August.
The only skill deficiency is "Not being as good as the Golden State Warriors". Otherwise, they're top notch.
Agreed. Greatest deficiency is having 3 stars rather than 4. But Eric Gordon isn't too far from Klay in my opinion
I believe that adding Melo while only giving up Ryno and irrelevant filler would make us a legit championship contender. It just sucks that a team like the Warriors exist. our biggest deficiency would be interior defense/rebounding, and I would like our wings (Ariza, Tucker, and Moute) to be more of a threat offensively I'd also like more consistent 3 point shooting...I'd like to be a team that shoots 38-39% from deep beggars can't be choosers tho...
And yet... here we are reading it and posting on it lol (don't think i've paid enough attention to haulic to know how good/bad his posts/threads are lol)
*again I go down the wormhole* In regards to OP, interior defense is our weakpoint. Capela is still young and growing and only above average or so at defending the rim. Although, it's after his 3rd year, it's his contract year, he's gonna be losing a lot of pressure with the new supposed roster. He has the potential to really be very good. I can envision him becoming a legit protector if he improves. But alas, that is unknown. Basing off of last year's knowledge he's the weak spot. But if you project potential he could be a top line starter and vault is into serious championship contention.
I still don't see Ricky Rubio on the roster, so the answer is not enough playmaking until further notice.
That's nice. I'm asking you to project where we are for the upcoming season in regards to winning a championship. What is our critical weakness that we need to improve in order to beat the Warriors... that is if your believe we still can't beat them. My opinion: I might be off but I think we're there offensively. With the acquisition of Paul into the starting line-up and changing out Anderson for Melo I believe our offense is as good as or better than the Warriors offense. Defensively, I think we are much improved on the perimeter. We lost Bev but more than offset that defensive loss with the additions of Paul, Tucker, and LMM. If those guys stay healthy......I think we're better. I think our interior D will be better because the addition of Paul means even less turnovers and less transition defense we'll be in. And Melo, when motivated, will be a defensive improvement at the 4 over Anderson on both the perimeter and the interior. My question marks are about rim protection and rebounding. Still not comfortable we have enough there.
