This is exactly why players like Rondo and Rubio are struggling so badly in today's game. The game is ever evolving. You can either evolve with it or go into extinction. The days of guards who can't shoot or at the very least finish strong and make FT's are over.

 

Being a UT fan and seeing Tucker play up close and many time, I always thought he was an NBA player. I was always shocked that he wasn't making it, but the mention of his inability to shoot makes sense. In college Tucker was a close to the basket, finish in tight spaces kind of player. Definitely has handles, could play defense, but this article says it all. Gotta be able to shoot in the NBA or you're out.

I think you guys are going to be shocked with how well he handles the ball. I'm not saying he's your point forward, but I'd be shocked if he doesn't bring the ball up 2 or 3 times a game. However, I hope MDA is wrong, if PJ puts up 6 a game, a couple of those will be him jacking it up.

I believe they could be useful off the bench if they come out going 100. The ball has to be in there hands so if they just come out and push the ball down the opponents throat for 5 straight minutes then they can wear the crap out pf the other team.

Thats how i believe these guards can still be useful. I dont think they can be full time starters.

The word "Positionless" defines them both perfectly, in two different ways. Tucker is positioless because he can play several positions. Brewer is positionless because no one will play him at any position.
