lol, I can just see the press conference:

Morey- we just felt like with the way the league is going you can't have too many ballhandlers. We trust that talent wins out.

D'antoni- I promise to have at least two hall of fame points guards on the floor for a full 48 minutes.

    Here's a fun one:

Knicks get 2018 Rockets first, Linsanity, Trevor Booker and Tarik Black.

Nets Get the right to swap with Houston in 2019, 2019 second rounder, Rockets 2020 1st and 2nd picks, Anderson, and Courtney Lee.

Knicks basically get salary relief and a pick. Nets basically do a straight talent swap for picks.

This is very similar to what i was playing around with..

    Houston in: Melo
Houston out: Ryno, Quaterman, Long, Taylor, Onuaku

Knicks in: Brandon Knight, TJ Warren, Channing Frye, Quaterman, Long, Taylor

Suns in: Kyrie, Ryno, Shump, Onuaku
Suns out: Bledsoe, Jared Dudley, Knight, Warren

    Cavs in: Bledsoe, Dudley
    Cavs out: Kyrie, Shump, Frye

Why Houston does it: Melo.. duh

Why NY does it: Get a nice young wing, a point guard that can hopefully play with Ntilikina (they balance each other out), a shooter behind Porzingod and non garuntees.

Why Phoenix does it: Kyrie.. duh. Plus Ryno is a quality shooting big who will swallow their payroll untill they have to pay their young guys. Shump can also play some quality minutes on the wing behind Jackson and Booker.

Why Cleveland does it: They get a pretty sweet replacement in Bledsoe, a versitile wing in Dudley plus the shed about 12M in cap space.

Where I can I find the guarantee dates for the Rockets non-guaranteed contracts?

Obviously after the first guarantee date goes by, the Melo trade is likely off the table.

Pistons Acquire Anderson, Irving, Tristian Thompson and Lance Thomas
    Cavs Acquire: Drummond, Jackson, OQuinn
Knicks Acquire Tobias Harris (hometown kid), boban Marjanovic, and Non Guaranteed Contracts along with a pistons 1st and a Houston 1st
    Rockets Acquire Carmelo Anthony

Why Pistons do it? Get to start fresh and build around Avery Bradley, Kyrie and Tristian
Stanley Johnson finally gets to start
    Kyrie-Avery-Stanley-Anderson-Thompson
    Why Cavs do it?
Cavs upgrade center position and get a decent Pg to fill in
    Drummond-love-Lebron-jr-Jackson
    Why Knicks do it?
No other trade drawn up would give better value than Harris a 2 year fill in + home town kid + you get 2 FRPs
    Why rockets do it?

    Rockets in: Melo
Rockets out: Quarterman, Long, Onuako (cut Jared Uthoff or trade him if after Aug 27)
    Why: Duh

    Knicks out: Melo
Knicks in: Derrick Favors (1/12 mil), Alec Burks (2/20 mil), Quarterman, Long, Onuako
Why: clear melo off books, get a big that can play with Porzingis long term if they choose to resign him, a vet PG to mentor nitlijinka, cap flexibility.

Jazz out: Derrick Favors, Alec Burks
Jazz in: Ryan Anderson, rights to Sergio Llull, MEM/MIA/CHA 2nd rd pick via HOU
Why: they switch out a guy that can't really play power forward and a bad contract for a shooting stretch four that fits with their roster and gives them scoring pop that they don't really have. Also, maybe Llull wants to come over stateside to play with Rubio.

    Trade #1: CLE + DEN + PHO
CLE: Eric Bledsoe (PHO) + Kenneth Faried (DEN) + Tyson Chandler (PHO) + Malik Beasley (DEN) + 2018 PHO 1st + 2018 PHO 2nd
Cleveland gets vets so they can suppress Celtics' challenge in East & be on par with who ever comes out of the West. Bledsoe + Rose / Smith + Korver / James + Green + Osman / Love + Faried / Thompson + Chandler = a strong contender.
Cavs also add talent to stay competitive in East if LeBron leaves as well as two 1sts (their own + Phoenix) to build for the future. Frye & Shumpert may feel like they got dumped (and they did), but at least they both have championship rings! Cleveland also sends Kyrie out of Eastern Conference.

DEN: Jared Dudley (PHO) + Iman Shumpert (CLE) + 2018 Miami 1st (via PHO)
Nuggets add veteran talent to better prepare to get a playoff spot for the first time in years. Since they signed Millsap, Faried becomes a backup PF + they have been trying to move him for some time. (Nuggets have Lyles & Arthur.) Barton already said he was going to test the free agent market (Suns will have $$$). Shumpert brings playofff and championship experience to backcourt. Dudley is a wily & versatile veteran.

PHO: Kyrie Irving (CLE) + Will Barton (DEN) + Channing Frye (CLE)
Suns pick up top talent (Irving) to replace Bledsoe. Irving gets to be "the man". Frye is a Phoenix area native and expires this year. Barton is also expiring, but brings scoring prowess to Suns' backcourt + Suns should have resources to keep him next off-season.

    Trade #2: DET + HOU + NYK
    HOU: Carmelo Anthony (NYK)
Rockets finally get that third star and have a roster to challenge Warriors & Spurs in playoffs.

DET: Ryan Anderson (HOU) + Courtney Lee (NYK) + rights to Alessandro Gentile (HOU)
Detroit puts better long distance shooters around Drummond (opens space for Drummond to operate and improves overall effectiveness of team). Anderson and Lee played for Van Gundy before so he has an idea of how to maximize their talent.

NYK: Tobias Harris (DET) + Jon Leuer (DET) + HOU expirings (Taylor; Quarterman; Onuaku; Long) + 2020 1st HOU (lottery protected) + rights to Sergio Llull (HOU) + 2018 2nd CHA / MEM / MIA (via HOU)
Harris is a NYC area native and replaces Melo. Knicks are going to have to eat some salary but Leuer's contract is more palatable than Ryno's contract. Knicks will probably cut all expirings, but Onuaku might be interesting front court depth. Rox include future 1st and a 2018 2nd to seal the deal.

Trade #2 does not happen until Trade #1 is consummated and Knicks know they are not getting Irving.

I don't think that first trade will happen exactly that way but I get the principle. I like the second trade but we might have to send the sweeteners to DET instead of NYK. Also we can do the trade without including Taylor if we cut Jared Uthoff at some point.

Actually, I think the 1st trade goes down without Denver.
PHO: Irving + Shumpert + Frye
CLE: Bledsoe + Chandler + Warren + Miami 1st + PHO 2nd (possibly Dudley, but I think Cleveland would prefer to cut some salaries) [Also, Phoenix may include its own 2018 1st as well]

    Some unorthodox trade ideas

    1)

Raptors get: Ryan Anderson, MEM/MIA/CHA 2nd rd pick via HOU, Sergio Llull

    Rockets get: Melo

Knicks get: Jonas Valuncianus, NG bros

Here the raptors get a guy who is a better fit for their offense than valuncianus. Ibaka played 66% of his minutes at the five last year so ibaka-anderson would work better than ibaka-Jonas. Also, the raptors are only taking on an additional 3.5 mil$ total per year as valuncianas is on a 3 yr/45 mil deal, only 5 mil per year less than anderson. If we throw in a second round pick I think they eat that 5ish mil per year for the better fit. Anderson would space the floor for Derozan and Lowry. We send Llull over as a throw in, maybe he likes Canada more than Texas. Knicks take Jonas because he gives them cap space for the next two years and gives them a young big with two way potential to pair with porzingis.

    2)

    Thunder get: Ryan Anderson,

    Rockets get: Melo

Knicks get: Enes Kanter, Kyle Singler, NG bros, Sergio Llull rights MEM/MIA/CHA 2nd rd pick via HOU, NG bros

The thunder would be motivated to do this because anderson is a much better fit for their team than Kanter as he provides elite spacing for Westbrook off the bench. Also they are uniquely qualified to hide Anderson with their elite defensive lineup. They don't have to take on much salary more than they already would. The Knicks do this because maybe they get enamored with Kanter's potential to be an offensive monster alongside Porzingis. They also try to lure Llull over with the luxurious lifestyle of NY and a big payday. Again they get about 10 mil per year of salary cap relief.

    3)

    Pelicans get:

Ryan Anderson, Courtney Lee, Lance Thomas

    Rockets get: Melo

Knicks get: Solomon Hill, Omer Asik, Etwaun Moore, Alexis Ajincia, NG bros, rights to Sergio Llull, MEM/MIA/CHA 2nd rd pick via HOU, 2018 NO 2nd rd draft pick

Here the pelicans swap three and D players with the Knicks to get a better fit for their roster and they acquire a shooter to be the third big off the bench. Also, the get off the horrible Asik contract and don't take on additional money. They improve their team without hindering their future. The Knicks get off of about 60 million dollars over two years and get two draft picks out of this deal. They get a couple of 3 and D guys to protect Hardaway and Ntlinjika to help them develop and they get a couple of bigs to take the defensive and rebounding burden off of porzingis so he can develop properly and avoid injury. Also they can try and lure Llull over with $ and a NY lifestyle to help mentor Ntlinkia.

Which one do y'all think is the most realistic?

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y92vsxyo

Knicks receive: Bazemore, Quarterman, Taylor, Houston 1st rounder

Atlanta receives: Greg Monroe (expiring), Onuaku

Bucks receive: Anderson, a second rounder from Houston and a second rounder from Atlanta

    Houston receives Carmelo Anthony

Atlanta does it for salary relief, the Knicks get a serviceable player in exchange for Melo (this trade also works with Dennis Schroeder, who I would imagine they would prefer). Bucks get some picks and a serviceable player in exchange for Monroe- who is likely not going to be resigned.

Man, I want Noel but do not want to give up Gordon. Certainly not for no D Seth Curry.
