The moves by Minny and OKC are helping our trade of the #45th pick to MEM. POR gets a full year of Nurkic. Davis and Cousins on mandate to make the playoffs, and DEN on upswing with Jokic, while MEM might lose Zach. That's 4 teams with legitimate reason to think they can overtake MEM, plus a 5th in DEN is can be quite unpredictable.

Memphis could easily miss the playoffs.

 

We should just take Gasol off their hands to help them rebuild sooner.

 

But both Charlotte and Miami (especially if they get Hayward) may finish with better records in a substantially weakened East. Rockets get the WORST of all 3 teams' second rounders.

 

OK, yeah, I even knew about the Worst of the three thing, but keep forgetting how MIA had 2nd best record in the NBA in 2nd half of season games. Yeah, you're right. They are a threat to making the pick not as good as a #45.

But Dwight's Charlotte....lulz. Not so worried about them.

On the good side, 76ers should compete finally.

 

Before I even listen to this I was going to say how every team is trying to be a "superteam" but I will listen to this and see why you think we have a shot.
