The wife and I watched all 4 episodes last night, really well done documentary. Engaging and fascinating throughout highly recommend if you a rap or just music fan in general.
2 episodes in and really loving it. It's like a trip down memory lane with the gangster rap era and there are a lot of little details I never knew. For example: Spoiler I remember the DOC being mentioned in the raps back then but never knew why I never heard him rap himself. It's a really heartbreaking story to hear how his rapping career came to an end, when he could have been a household name mentioned with the likes of the other NWA members.
Loved the documentary. Jimmy was a crazy character and the names he was involved with in his career is just insane. Spoiler: But Wish they'd have touched on Eminem a little bit more and gone further into the backlash of signing him. I knew there was issues but never really knew the details.
Really inspiring stuff. Awesome insight on the whole music industry. Probably the best documentary I've seen in a while. HBO is truly a masterclass production.
