Adam Silver Says 2017-18 NBA Season Will Start on Oct. 17

The league has made some very good decisions this summer.

Now all they have to do is reduce the regular season to ~75 games and be done with it.

 

So how many pre-season games does a team play and does training camp begin a few weeks earlier. I would think the union would have an issue if the players had to work a couple of extra weeks without compensation.

 

good call. we wait less time for the season and the players have to deal with less back to backs

 

I hope we have the home opener. Finally upgraded my season tickets and I'm in the lower bowl now. Come on oct 17th!

 

I've always wanted them to start season in December and have the finals start after the 4th of July.

 

Would cut way way way into summer off season parties for the players and that's very Important to them...

 

Any idea on when the schedule is released? I know August, but any firm date?

 

I think it's now 5-6 games, no longer 7-8. I know we have one game against OKC on October 3rd in Tulsa, OK.
