yup, people forget that before he broke news, Woj's main contribution was articles like these: Spoiler: Shut up and play, T-Mac
Has Shams even done the "thank you, woj" tweet? I bet the relationship is more like Shams is Gobert, and Woj is Hayward right now.
Woj and Windhorst might be a little stiff on TV, but whatever. I'll take the "no nonsense approach" of them delivering the facts the the "Yuckity-yuck" chuckle hut approach of Shelbourne and Amin and those clowns. They shouldn't have Woj on the The Jump. He is serious and that show is fluff. Two different tones. Give me the nuts and bolts versus the yakkity yak #narrative fluff. Shams is doing great and I suspect when his Y! contract is done, he as well as Mannix, will probably transition to ESPN.
I agree that Windhorst is very good now. He's smart. Funny. And he states what he thinks even in the face of his co-hosts, but at the same time is respectful of the players. Like. Woj is generally uncomfortable. but he does keep talking so he has a chance to get better.
I think Woj is willingly taking a back seat to Shams. Wow is basically on vacation while his understudy is busting his ass.
Ain't no rivalry here. Woj took Shams under his wings and has been his mentor for the past few years. Likely hooked him up with some contacts.
According to some poster on realgm woj is still the kings: http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1591928&p=57280994 Shams is going to have to up his game if he is coming for the king.
You gotta respect Shams for refraining from the Melo speculation circus when every single "insider" worth a lick has gotten in on the action including back-from-crypt Peter Vecsey. While ESPN has WOJ doing psychic readings, Shams has quietly kept grinding and reporting actual news -- the small stuff like minor signings and player movement. Always a step ahead of everyone else. Imagine the poetic justice if Shams ends up being the one to actually break the Melo trade when it's finally completed.
