Nope. Got to keep it covered up. That mouth looks like it's already been with hundreds of bananas ...
If LeBron James joins the Rockets, I will officially stop watching the NBA until LeBron retires. I'm tired of these stupid players with their Super teams. That is not fun to watch. This is not the WWE. F*** you Durant and LeBron.
honestly, i'm just trying to get excited about the guys who are actually here. I'm not a Melo guy, but if he comes here, i'm gonna be excited to root for him. At a certain point though, if you are just chasing the big star, it undermines your enjoyment of the team you have. Not everyone has to be a superstar to contribute in a big way. i love the role players, the hustlers, the fan favorites. i like having players who've been with the team for a few years; respect the culture and history of the team and the city. Sure it would be great to get King James. I hope it happens; and i'll become the biggest LBJ fan over-night. But i also hope we don't turn the Rockets franchise into a 2-dollar w****, where we are constantly just renting and chasing players, rather than building something that lasts. At some point you stop chasing after every star and solidify what you have. We're not there yet, and i'm excited about the additions, and what's to come, but i hope we recognize when we are there, so we can build deep fan affinity for our team, and cut down on the turnover.
I think we're set once we get Melo knock on wood. Practices, training camp, preseason.. The players will embrace it because like Paul said, they're excited about playing basketball again. Have a great season and try to win a title. If we lose a competitive series to GS in the WCF and GS goes on to beat Cleveland for the third time in 4 years, I would say Lebron to Houston would be the favorite imo
Cp3 Harden LeBron Melo Capela We'd have to shut down registersration for this site due to bandwagon fans.
I'm a Lebron fan but Lebron groupies would annoy me.. esp all of the Houston ones that come in hoards to the TC every season. Also, I don't see how we can retain Capela if we get Lebron. Morey will have to work wonders just to fit Paul, Melo, and Lebron.. would need to dump EG and Tucker for starters.
Our current squad would beat SAS last yr and take at least a game from the Warriors. Let's see how the synergy piece plays out
I'm glad this thread is gaining traction. Hopefully it will reach 100 pages by the time LeBron gets here
lol in no world, will morey ponder in keeping capela instead of getting lebron. everyone will be gone if need to, to fit jh, cp, me7o and lebron. we'll get players wanting to play for us with minimum deals
This thread gains relevance by the day! Kyrie wants out of Cleveland, the Kang will soon follow. Here's how everything will playout: Spoiler: Here is my attempt of making the salaries work Rockets trade Ryan Anderson, NGs, picks for Carmelo, probably going to have to be a 3 or 4 team deal Rockets play entire '17-'18 season with the roster currently constructed (switching Ryno for Melo), finish 2nd in the West and lose in the WCF to the Warriors ***DISCLAIMER*** If Melo goes to Cleveland for Kyrie, Melo and LeBron would both be free to come here next summer regardless. Rockets would just have to trade Ryno into someone's cap space. THEN JULY 2018 LeBron is a free agent CP3 is a free agent Dwyane Wade is a free agent Carmelo evokes the Early Termination in his contract, thus he is a free agent Rockets can match any off for Capela as he is an restricted free agent The current guaranteed salaries for the 2018-2019 season (as of July 21, 2017, assuming Ryno is gone) per http://www.spotrac.com/nba/houston-rockets/cap/2018/ James Haredn - 30,421,854 Eric Gordon - 13,500,375 P.J. Tucker - 7,742,193 Nene - 3,651,480 Chinanu Onuaku - 1,544,951 TOTAL: 56,860,853 The 2017-2018 cap is $99 million, going up by $4.86 million the year before. I'm going to assume that for 2018-2019 it will go up another $5 million to be $104 million. So with a cap of $104,000,000, the Rockets would have about $47.44 million of cap room, disregarding cap holds. Now they could trade P.J. Tucker for nothing and then have $55.182 million available. The Rockets will have CP3's bird rights and can offer him a 5-year max and he would be a cap hold of $39,133,697 So if Rockets sign CP3 to the max, They will only have $8.31 million left, or $16 million if they trade P.J. Tucker. I can see Melo and LeBron taking less, but I don't think they will play for $4 or $8 million a piece when CP3 would be making $39 million and Harden would be making $30 million. If CP3/Melo/LeBron all agree to take the same amount, they would all make $15.81 million in 2018-2019, or $18.39 million if Rockets trade P.J. Tucker. D-Wade would play for the veteran's minimum, since he's cashing out with his last big contract in Chicago of $23.8 million. If he comes here, Rockets would also be able to trade Eric Gordon's $13.5 million away, which would give CP3/Melo/LeBron an additional $4 million each. Would They rather have Eric Gordon on the team or $4 million more each? 2018-2019 ROSTER SCENARIO #1 (Eric Gordon stays) CP3 - 18.39 mil Harden - 30.42 mil Carmelo - 18.39 mil LeBron - 18.39 mil Eric Gordon - 13.5 mil Nene - 3.65 mil Dwyane Wade - Vet Min (est. 2.11 mil) Capela - Matched RFA offer sheet (Would cause Rockets to be in tax hell, better hope the new owner is willing to pay that, or goodbye Capela) One of Onuaku/Zhou Qi/Cam Oliver 1.378 mil - 1.544 mil Vet min PG Bobby Brown FOREVER (est. 2.11 mil) Vet min Wing player Trevor Ariza???
