Chris Paul Traded to Rockets!!!

I wish we hadn't given up Harrell and the first, but I like this trade despite the concerns I have for fit. If the goal is to win a championship, teams will have to be bold and innovative in constructing super teams to take down the Golden State behemoth, and a three guard tandem of Paul, Harden, and Gordon could present enough options to flummox elite defenses like the Warriors and Spurs. I still feel they need an All Star level (or close to it) player in the front court to have a real chance, but maybe Morey has someone in mind for the MLE or iis finally lining up elite 3 point shooting talent to pair with his love for the efficiency of the shot.

This trade certainly ups the variance. It could go down in flames, but perhaps it could catch fire four times in a 7 game series deep in the playoffs against Golden State. I like the odds of that latter scenario a lot better today than I did last season.

Does he talk about how this trade means Harden has more help and therefore Westbrook, Mr. Triple Double, deserves to win next years MVP award?

Impressive for sure. So much for the theory of Les being in financial trouble lol.

 

He can get the full five year max after next season, just has to become a free agent in order to so. Can't do it as part of an extension in the trade.

 

Rockets get to necessary Paul George salary with Gordon/Taylor/Kelly/Long. Don't think that's a coincidence.

 

So regardless of what else happens, we now have a $7 million or so trade exception and the full MLE to add some role players. Very attractive.

 

Are the Pacers really going to trade us Paul George for Eric Gordon? That's ALL they want? Gordon and a bunch of non guaranteed deals? That seems impossible, but then, Morey is a member of the Justice League so who knows. He's pretty overpowered.

 

Maybe CP3 will teach Harden how to settle down instead of going clubbing every night

Probably for the $$$$$$. He's giving up $3 million now to sign a max deal next year. The Clippers didn't offer him a max extension.

 

Capela to someone for a first maybe? Lol we do all of this and we still end up with Ryno on the team.
