That would be Southeast Houston. Harris county and Liberty county are under tropical storm watch now.
Looks like the European models want to jog this thing further down the coast...which would be a more significant rain event for us, obviously, then if the current GFS is correct and it hits somewhere on the upper TX coast. I have an office move scheduled for Thursday evening...I hope this stuff stays far away from me.
Basically the NHC has been moving the track west ever since they publicized it. I was telling some coworkers yesterday they are issuing that track way to soon. Granted this storm is sheared to **** and all of the rain/wind is on the east side of the system, the European model has been saying central TX coastline for like 5 days now. The GFS was in the Florida panhandle. Well now the GFS is TX/LA border and the Euro still shows central TX coastline. So as of now, it is a watch and see. I still think this thing comes awfully close to Galveston. Whether or not it can get its act together and wrap the moisture around before it gets here will determine the outcome for our area.
yeah...saw a meteorologist on twitter say this system was like 2 separate storms...the one that they're tracking...and then a massive amount of rain well off to the east of the center. Sounds like Louisiana is going to get pounded, regardless.
GFS model isn't budging at all. Still shows extreme SW Louisiana for landfall. Will be interesting to see what the Euro says in a few hours. To me, it looks like the storm is just stationary right now.
The Euro usually out performs the GFS, I'm surprised the NHC went more closely with the GFS model for their 1st forecast track.
It is running and currently out to 264 hours.. this is 42 hours out from now. Spoiler You can view that model as well as others on this site: http://www.tropicaltidbits.com/anal...frzn&runtime=2017062012&fh=42&xpos=0&ypos=200 This is the Euro model at 48 hours from the 00z run. A new run should be out in the next few hours.. Spoiler
All of Harris County is under a TS "Watch". Nobody on the Gulf is even under a Hurricane watch or warning.
Ah, dang . Came in this thread to give weatherman extraordinaire Dr. FRANKIE MACDONALD's report... but I see @davidio840 with the quickness. Nice. Anyway, "NEVER FORGET." "... wanted to me a meme..."? Doesn't make sense.
I'm going to order my pizzas and order my chinese food now. I'll probably buy cases of coke and buy cases of pepsi as well.
