I understand all of the basketball reasons behind why he might be dealt. It also fits metaphorically with this team that they would ship out their heart and soul. I'd be happy for Bev, it would be interesting to see him run a different system.
I know it's part of life as a sports fan...even Hakeem retired with another franchise.....but damn it! It'll hurt to see Bev traded or leave. I'm cool trading anyone outside of Harden, but Bev is the guy you want to see play his entire career here.
Is it just me or is it nuts he's talking so openly about all of this. Admits he's hearing he might be traded and has heard rumors of Chris Paul to Houston. This makes me optimistic about Paul.
It's actually the opposite. If there was anything formal going on he would have been instructed not to talk about it.
Are there examples of this? It's unprofessional either way. But IMO it's way crazier/unprofessional to vent and be super open about being traded with no legit sources. Can you imagine what the coaching staff, the team and front office must be thinking about him if they have no plans to trade him? To me it screams that he's hearing this from real sources and that its a very real possibility.
I would be devastated. He paid dues, sacrificed, and has remained determined in his career. Has always worked hard and improved his game every year. He's been loyal to the Rockets both on and off the court. You know what I mean when I say he's been loyal on the court. On top of all that, he's very down to earth with the fans. Constantly looking for opportunities to meet up fans for a game or a bite to eat. He's even invited fans to his own home for a holiday. Bev is one of my all-time favorite Rockets. Some important context: There were literally just two reporters there... Berman and someone from KPRC. This wasn't a major availability, and it's not like he was getting grilled. Questions were very brief and generic, just about offseason goals, etc. No one asked him about trade rumors, and certainly no one said the name Chris Paul. Bev went out of his way on his own accord to specifically mention both of those items. I agree that nothing's formal or close, and it shouldn't be, since the Rockets aren't even allowed to have contact with CP3 until July 1. But it's not like this CP3/Rockets story has been leading SportsCenter, so for Beverley to go out of his way to discuss that without even being asked... it sure makes you wonder if he's heard things beyond just the one or two tidbits that we have.
The stories were coming out last week about how the Warriors players had been recruiting KD for over half the previous season. The players probably have a fairly clear picture of what's going on, barring a Deandre Jordan type situation.
