Who is there to draft? Fultz and Ball aren't immediate difference-makers.

2016? Simmons was injured, Ingram and Brown didn't do much; neither of the top 3 picks are going to win RotY.

2015? Towns, Porzingod and Booker are the only 3 1st round picks to make an impact. 2 years later, they're still the only "recognizable" players from the '15 draft.

2014? Wiggins is stuck in a losing franchise, Parker and Embiid are injury-prone, and Gordon/Exum/Randle/Smart haven't quite broken through, yet. That's the top 7 picks of the draft not really doing much.

There's not a LeBron-talent player every year. Blanket statement of "teams should draft better" doesn't really make sense.

Some teams get lucky with chemistry. Curry had glass ankles throughout, like, the first 3 seasons of his career. No one thought he'd be an eventual MVP. They didn't even do much until Green was drafted.

Spurs have Popovich and the Big 3 was still relevant when Kawhi was developing. Leonard is a great player, but let's not act like the Spurs' culture and locker room didn't have anything to do with how he's developed into an MVP caliber player.

You are giving Popovich and the Spurs system a bit too much credit. Kawhi would have been a great player on any other team under any other coach. He is a player with great work ethic and attitude and would shine anyway else.

I agree that he would have been awesome in other places, but landing in the Spurs' system really allowed him to shine. He wouldn't have had a championship core to learn from, in Duncan/Parker/Ginobili, and wouldn't have a coach Pop anywhere else.

I'm sure Kawhi would have done fine on teams like PHX, PHI and Minny, but his success with the Spurs by NOT being the primary or secondary option right out of the gate, only serves to steady his development into the player he is today.

GS also drafted Barnes who was signed as a max player and Patrick McCaw might turn out to be a good player as well, no one will hit 100%, but the GS draft history clearly indicate they are doing something better than the rest of the NBA.

Good comeback to LeBron's "Ultimate Warrior" shirt he wore while carrying the trophy in 2016. Green probably had it designed right after he saw LBJ's shirt last year. LOL

He said it was in response to the trolling LeBron did all year, with Ultimate Warrior, the halloween thing, etc. All in good fun as him in LeBron are actually good friends in real life. Funny thing is they had the shirts made in Cleveland.

Those Lebron and Draymond Tshirts are hilarious.

But the best trash talking was this moment from 1997 by Scottie Pippen:

Both James' Miami and latest Cleveland team are more "super teams" (in the sense of artificially constructed) than the Warriors. Miami and Cleveland were constructed with all the foundational pieces coming from separate teams in one off-season. The Warriors were an organically-built team that added one superstar to it at the end. Adding that one superstar was, of course, hugely consequential, but that's one guy as opposed to all the main pieces coming together from different places.
