Who are the top Power Forwards in the League?

    How do you rank them?

Who are the best coming out of college?

Power forward is our weakest link in the starting 5

don't think pf is the weakest link at all. it isn't. A 40% shooter true stretch 4 is far from it. the weakest link is the defense collectively first and foremost. One player doesn't fix that. And next is also another real star caliber player if were talking about competing for a true championship

Antony Davis is far and away the best PF in the NBA. It's not even close right now.
(I do not consider Durant/Giannis PFs, if you do though, then they would be comparable to him obviously)

Since he's not available anytime soon...

Rockets targets at this position will be Kevin Love (who may go on the block again)
    Milsap
    Blake Griffin

The rest of the 4s are good solid players, but nothing that would move the needle.

Kevin Love is an interesting guy, he was once a dominant player but not so much for the Cavs. You have to wonder if that is just the Lebron effect or if it is just him aging. I'm going to go with the former since his game is reliant upon skills. He's not a good defender, but he at least does what Ryno does but can pass and rebound and score in the paint.

Milsap would be a good pickup, but it's not beating the Warriors. Makes the Rockets better, but at what cost?

Blake is extremely talented, but I wonder just like Harden if he mentally has 'it'.

He is the weakest defender in our starting line up
He seems to be the least consistent
If his shot is not dropping . . . he is a 0 out there

That said. . . He'd be EXCELLENT OFF THE BENCH!!1

I think we have the bench to compete
Anderson - Lou - Ego - Dekker and NeNe
    is a good second squad . . . . .

a bench roll would be nice in that situation but weakest defender in the starting lineup, not sure id agree with that bc hes not out there guarding guys on the perimeter which affect the game the most. People have to remember he's in the starting lineup why? because it fits with how harden plays. also if you're going along with he's the weakest link in the starting lineup, you could replace him with the best pf in the league and the rockets still wouldn't be beating the gsw, cavs, or maybe even spurs

There's always going to be a weak link in any lineup. even the gsw will have a weak link in any of there lineups including the death lineup. it's about how you counter or overcome that and take on the challenge.

I couldn't agree with you more. If Anderson's shot isn't dropping, he's worthless. He doesn't assist in rebounds nor defense. If we had enough cap space to land a star PF, I'd love to keep Anderson for the second unit, that would work. However, I can't see it happening with our current situation. With that said, the only 2 logical options I see are to keep him, try to improve and continue to develop or trade him with picks for an upgrade, if possible. But given how one-sided Anderson's play is + his contract, I don't think anyone will want him.

Golden State went from Harrison Barnes to Kevin Durant
I am not expecting that kind of increase but . . . . .If we do half as good . . .we are so much better

Hopefully, Kevin Love gets the scapegoat treatment and Cleveland feels pressured into moving him.

A week or two ago there was a rumor about LeBron pushing for a Love for Melo swap. Maybe we can get in on that as a third party and help facilitate the deal. I would gladly take Love off of their hands.

We are in a "positionless" basketball era so I'm not sure these labels matter.

    But...

    These are your free agents:
    Blake Griffin
    Paul Millsap
    JaMychal Green
    Serge Ibaka
    James Johnson
    Amir Johnson
    Taj Gibson
    Nikola Mirotic
Could be moved: Kevin Love (although I'd assume they'd want quality(a star) instead of quantity(a 3/4 piece package; saw someone on here propose an Ariza/maybe Dekker?/other pieces to Cleveland for Love)

    Other potential free agents:
    Kris Humphries
    Ersan Ilyasova
    Paul Millsap
    Mike Muscala
    Jonas Jerebko
    Amir Johnson
    Kelly Olynyk(R)
    Christian Wood
    Cristiano Felicio(R)
    Joffrey Lauvergne(R)
    Nikola Mirotic(R)
    Derrick Williams
    Nerlens Noel(R)
    Dirk Nowitzki(T)
    Danilo Gallinari
    Kevin Durant(P)
    Andre Iguodala
    James Michael McAdoo(R)
    David West
    Nene Hilario
    Troy Williams(R)
    Brandon Bass
    Blake Griffin
    Luc Richard Mbah a Moute
    Marreese Speights
    Thomas Robinson
    Metta World Peace
    JaMychal Green(R)
    Zach Randolph
    Luke Babbitt
    Udonis Haslem
    James Johnson
    Willie Reed
    Michael Beasley
    Spencer Hawes(P)
    Greg Monroe(P)

I think Serge, Taj and maybe Green
I need to see Nikola's shooting percentage and if he disappears
because I don't know his defense

Davis is obviously the top dog at the position, he's a generational talent.

imo Draymond and Ibaka are the protypical 4's you want in today's game. 3&D plus more.

Best PF coming in would prob be Markannen. Terrific shooter, not bad on D for a big white kid.

Some lower tier guys I think we should consider if all else fails: Cunningham, Jerami Grant, Mbah a Moute, Tolliver? Jeff greeN?

Serge Ibaka is declining a lot. I'd love the version of him from like 5 years ago, but both his offense and defense have dropped off and I'd be pretty disappointed if the Rox sank a bunch of money into him.

I mean, even as he is, he'd make the Rockets a bit better, but I think he's going to be severely overpaid this off-season.

My personal top 10 as today (so, considering age and injuries):

    1. Davis
    2. Porzingis
    3. Draymond
    4. Horford
    5. Millsap
    6. Griffin
    7. LMA
    8. Love
    9. Ibaka
    10. Favors

Yep, i'm a big fan of Porzingis and i think he's ready to rock.

Saric is also looking really good, considering his age i may actually pick him at least ahead of Favors.

    @Vivi

Good list mine would be slightly different .

Davis and draymond are the top 2 IMO no questions asked

    After that

    Porzingis
    Horford
    Millsap
    Griffin

Make up the next tier, zingis is younger but may not be purely better yet. Griffin would probably be in the top tier if he could stay healthy.

    Love is solidly next

Then ibaka and lma ( both deciding rapidly ??)

Saric is a good honorable mention as he's got quite the skillset

Parker, depending on how he looks after injury could also break into the group.

PF was a huge strength position about 5 years ago ; but dirk and Duncan are retired (or retiring) and lma, millsap, and ibaka are all getting up there in age.

Horford really never took a leap forward and griffin keeps getting hurt.

Plus small-ball is going to take some time to be adjusted to . KD and Lebron are the best 4's but putting them on the list just seems wrong.
