Didn't realize we picked up Sio. If he's healthy he can bring solid ILB depth to the team. He was pretty good for the Raiders not so much for the Colts.
I liked what he had to say about football reflecting on his personal life to better himself . Sounds like a cool dude just from the sound bites
Pat Starr claims (around 35 min) that the QB group dominated this last week of OTAs like he’s never seen before in the past 3 yrs under Godsey. He likes how O’Brien is waist deep teaching little details, and repeating plays until they get it right. http://www.scout.com/nfl/texans/story/1783419-podcast-qbs-own-the-day-andre-hal-1-on-1
Delegating dude. That's what assistants are there for. I'm sure you're director doesn't come down and ask for TPS reports cause he WANTS to do them.
Well O'Brien was really the offensive coordinator. When Kubiak was here, no one gave credit to Dennison.
He was, then he wasn't, and now he is again... full-time. I guess the thought is to work on the bigger things; gameplan, execution, and strategy overall. While the OC (Godsey before) would work on mechanics and the such. Last season's training camp that I attended (believe it was the first) I did not see much of BoB directing the offense. He was kind of roaming and making his way from offense to defense and back and so forth. I mean he is technically in charge of the ENTIRE TEAM regardless of who calls the plays or has the titles. So now he's getting even more hands on from what it seems. I see nothing wrong with that, plus you have no excuse in the book if ALL our QBs stink this year....... Mr. QB Guru.
I was reading the wiki on Bill OBrien. Thought it was funny that as offensive coordinator at Duke in 2005 and 2006, his teams averaged 16.1 and 14.9 points per game. He then got hired by the Patriots and his career took off, lol. Not sure about 2005 and 2006, but the worst offense in FBS this year averaged 14.8 ppg.
Yeah I feel like the narrative that suggests that he's a competent offensive mind will be absolutely destroyed if he continues to make the Texans offense worse, there's no one left to blame. Hell at this point I might have more faith in RAC running the offense than BOB.
Maybe he didn't have the players those two seasons but the Pat's saw that he was good. Maybe I'm just making another excuse because I like Obrien now. Who knows?
Since OB has been here, the offense has been dull, unimaginative, not entertaining, not exciting, and unproductive. Other than that, no issues.
