Is Harden the best player in the NBA? (May 2017)

  1. Yes because he's the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year and is currently playing in the Playoffs

  2. Yes because he listens to repetitive Trap Music like the blind fans who post here

    7 vote(s)
    24.1%
  3. No because he was disappointing in elimination games past the first round of the playoffs

He was the best player in the NBA this year. He had a pretty good playoff showing, but not good enough to keep going. It's a weird thing to vote on, so I voted on pure potential.

Not the best player. Still a regular season superstar though.

    My vote is no.

Because there are a few guys who have pretty rock solid cases as better overall players and a few guys who have pretty good cases as relative equals and then you even have a few fringe top 10 guys you MIGHT argue for.

I'd argue he's firmly entrenched in the 4-8 range.

Harden is better than any Rockets player in the past 20 years and probably there won't be better one in the next 20 years either.

Rockets playoff series wins in past 19 years:

    Without Harden - 1
    With Harden - 3

I added the Travis Scott picture for fun.

It's about someone saying this today, after knowing what happened this season and playoffs.

How many playoff series wins with Steve Francis and Tracy McGrady?
    Bet you don't know that!

Sounds like a trap poll. He is what he is. Top 5 talent and questionable execution in crucial playoff games.

In the next 20 years no better? That is a bleak future. SkyNet has come to yours.

I doubt that, I am sure there will be a better defensive player who can also score.

I mean it's understandable. When you have to stand behind and support such a marvelous quitting perfomance you have to use some hyperbolic poetic ..liberty to achieve that.

Based on what? I'd honestly much rather have a guy like Kawhi or LeBron that is elite on both ends, makes better decisions and is better in the clutch. Think Harden's pure ppg and apg are making some people biased.

Doesn't the best player in the NBA actually have to play both sides of the ball and not just excel at 50% of the game?

MVP is an offensive award, as evidenced by Westbrook who is going to win it. The big O at least played D. Haren and Westbrook laugh at that concept.

I give him credit that he tries to play some but not when it matters.
