Anyone got any ideas? First thing in my opinion is to put Harden on the clock. If he dose not improve next season he needs to be traded . Second is get Paul millsap. If we had him a big guy who can play on both ends who can defend a Aldridge and make LMA work on defense we would have been in better shape.Ryan Anderson needs to go. Then you have to look to trade Lou Williams with his expiring deal and get some value in return. Not sure what we are going to do with the likes of Harrell, Dekker and Nene. Nene is worth bringing back for a vet minimum deal. Having said that we need a interior defender/rebounder ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE AND A PLAYMAKER WHO CAN ACTUALLY PLAY AS A PLAYMAKER OFF THE BENCH .Gordon and Lou are just scorers,
Anderson and Ariza for paul George. Sign Griffin Harden, George, Griffin big three surrounded by shooters. Can it be done?
1. SHOOT THE F*CKING BALL . . . . The spurs simply told their players. . . . we only play the rim and the 3 point line. . . . Let the rockets do whatever the f*ck they want to inbetween . . . We would get a clear path to within 2 ft of the rim and throw the ball out . . . SHOT THAT F*CKING ****!!!! We *NEVER* ADJUSTED TO THAT last night or all series. . . . it was that f*cking simple. . . hit those shots at a 40% rate and the spurs would have had to change . . . spurs simple played a zone and picked off passes 2. GET ANOTHER F*CKING BIG . . .. Having someone carry your whole offense and then tell him to body up a big on the other end is ridiculous 3. PLAY THE OTHER F*CKING PLAYERS . . . the short rotation was a travesty . . . . while it is not excuse. . let's not pretend the last game did not carry over into this one The difference between lifting weights and running . . .both get you tired but muscles are more sore after lifting IN MY EXPERIENCE . . . . I think that is partially what happened to Harden after Gasol sat on him all last two games Rocket River
Ibaka + Hayward = Bev Harden Hayward Ibaka Capela 4 defenders 4 3-point shooters 2 playmakers I don't know how this would work with the salary cap...
another Hayward is not leaving Utah. They have a better foundation then us right now.Not only can they max him out, they can afford max another big name free agent out as well.
Just hurry up and sign Ibaka and Gallinari and get hype for a 57 win pretender 2nd round at best team so we can be here again next year talking about how to fix that mess all over again. Were going nowhere fast.
Trade him now while he's worth something. Get a high 1st rounder and some decent young guys back from Lakers. Tank for two seasons and rebuild. Back in playoffs by 2019-2020. Not a Harden hater, what he has done here has been amazing. To me, it's obvious that this isn't the team for him. He'd be happier in LA playing for his home team. Magic would take him in a heartbeat. The stars we could go and get to play with James are all older and or not good enough to win anyways. We need to find a fresh talent through draft and start over now. No need to spread this out for the next 4 years and still end up in same situation.
And have the offense develop sort of mid range game for Christ sakes. It was either 3pt shots, layups or bust.
They just need to shoot the fricking floater or year drop. Its there..... just take it.. And learn to slam with authority. Rocket River
I'm sure yesterday's game probably shook the front office up big time. Changes will be coming. But seriously, we need another year together as a team with this coaching staff. Not every team can repeat the 1st year success that the Warriors had when they brought Kerr in.
U gotta trade Harden. Hes a superstar who quits on his team. We can act like he didnt but its clear to everyone he did not want to win. Not only is that bad for Harden, but even worse for the organization & fans. NOBODY will wanna play for the guy known to quit on his team. Trade him and get it a young stud or group of studs. Change the culture Les!!
this is doable if Ryno can be dumped for nothing (this will be difficult to do)...that pretty much gets us to a max for Hayward Ibaka is possible if he's willing to come here for 18-20 mil/yr...you'd have to dump Ariza and Lou (not hard as they are useful players on expiring contracts) and get rid of the end of bench guys like Brown, Wiltjer, Taylor, Onuaku, and even Montrezz
That's the important part: It's not that the team would have had to give up their entire identity and philosophy permanently. They just needed to do it long enough to make the Spurs sag back from the 3-pt line and out of the paint a little. Once that happens, the outside and inside both open up again. We can have a 3-and-the-paint offensive philosophy, but it can't be so rigid that we stick to it even when a well-coached opponent is defending it perfectly.
Don't know, but something has to be done with Harden, like fix his mental game. Harden needs to be questioned about what happened and then see how he responds. Unless Harden changes, this team ain't going nowhere.
Moreyball helped us to greatly overachieve this season, but at the same time it can be too restrictive I don't think any team or player should ever completely eliminate a shot from their arsenal...u can become too predictable I do not like how Harden has completely eliminated the midrange shot from his game. He is a good midrange shooter. This dude used to be the step back gawd. Now it's pretty much 50% layups and 50% threes from him, and his 3 point shooting has regressed from above average to mediocre at best. He has fallen in love with the 3 pointer. He took 35 shots in games 5 and 6, and 24 of them were from 3. He only hit 6 of those 24 threes. He was taking almost 11 threes a game throughout the playoffs even tho he was shooting under 30% from deep. Why?
Sign Millsap. Tell D'Antoni to stop playing Harden against big men. Have at minimum 9 man rotation in playoffs. Problem solved.
We have 10-12 million cap room if we make no trades. So we need to be realistic with who we can actually get.
