HUGE adjustment, and it is very exciting to see how the Ryno/Lou tandem does off the bench now. This will improve our defense, and make it SUPER difficult for Pop to stick with Pau/Lamarcus. Not only that, but Jimmy excels at defending bigger guys, and he doesn't have to run around as much. Genius.

Thank you Mike & Morey & Les.

Something needs to be done about the Harden-on-Aldridge matchup, though. I get that Nene was out and MDA had to adjust on the fly, but Aldridge was just getting whatever he wanted in the post, when Beard was on him.

Eric Gordon and Lou are the absolute X and Y factors

Rockets cannot afford both to have cold games, at worst one of them have to perform

If both play well like today, Rockets will win 75% of the games.

Beard defends Pau. Clint/Nene/Trev on LA.

Maybe Ryno will start shooting better with less pressure coming off the bench.

With Ryno off the bench we can bring in LeBron at the 4:eek:

I think the reason EG starts in the 2nd half is because Nene's injury. They need Ryno play the C when Clint sits. Don't think this was in our plan book for this game.

ryno at the 5 was a pretty good adjustment that we may have accidentally stumbled upon. but i've thought about this after game 3. not saying we're necessarily better without nene but ryno at the 5 is a lineup that does have benefits.

there is so much spacing on the court that when we run that high pick and roll, we can get any shot we want. spurs can no longer sell out on 2bigs in the paint and guarding the perimeter, b/c one big gets pulled out and harden can just do his thing. if they help they'll get burned on 3's. of course we still need to make shots though but we become so much more +EV on offense.

defensively our interior/rebounding is challenged but there were a lot of possessions where the spurs tried to iso Gasoft on harden or LMA on ryno and that's fine from a defensive standpoint for us.

There were instances where Ariza was on Kawhi and Beard was on LMA. I wonder how Beard would do against Kawhi.

Did E.G. really start the 3rd quarter?

Pau is still a good post player and the Spurs lived at the rim when Anderson was the C with our three guard lineup. It doesn't seem like a great strategy in this series.

The reason D'Antoni went with Gordon because he knows he needed a big that can play with the 2nd unit. With Nene out, he didn't have any bigs that can run with the 2nd unit. This was not a demotion for Anderson, nor a promotion for Gordon.

If Nene won't come back, Gordon will be in the starting lineup in game 5.

I think our normal starting lineup is fine... but I wouldn't mind EG starting the 2nd half again for game #5. I think that is a great change of pace and can get us to win that 3rd quarter like we did today. Attacking and pushing the ball to start the second half should be our MO. Replace EG with Lou the final 6 minutes of the quarter then have EG and Lou back in to start the 4th with Harden resting.

Gordon was shooting lights out, and since Anderson wasn't contributing in any way outside of shooting, might as well put in an even hotter shooter who can also be a playmaker.

    Ballsy but also logical move.

Good. Take the Spurs out of their offense by them feeding LMA.

ROckets win. No one you can start Ryno again. EG is our man. He changed the game

Yes, that's why it went from a close game to a blow out. MikeD won this game by finally benching Ryno and not listening to Morey and "BUT BUT He's making $20 million, you make me look bad if you don't start him"
