Well you certainly can't tackle a guy who has already run away from you. If he can stay with route runners then he has a chance.

That they went from telling media he's an olb to ilb in like 3 minutes tells me that it was a slip of the tongue and they quickly corrected.

 

Last season he made 125 tackles with 16 1/2 for losses and four fumble recoveries. How is that not good?

I don't think the inside or outside label matters that much, wasn't Cushing labeled as an OLB also? The designation is old, and doesn't specify edge rushing.

 

You are quoting raw stats. Lots of missed tackles, one of the worst in NCAA in tackling efficiency, basically every scout points to his poor tackling form and lack of aggression in tackling. Now we happen to have a great linebacker coach so hopefully he can be coached up.
