Not only that but Adams, Kanter, Grant, Gibson, Roberson and McDermott were 17 for 30 from the floor. It's not like these dudes were bricking shots, Westbrook just decided he wanted to go hero mode and completely forgot about the other 4 dudes playing next to him.

Billy Donovan needs to have a serious talk with Russell Westbrick.

Agree, I found this clip which supports your claims somewhat.

As a rockets fan I hope he continues down this path as our defense is structured around sagging off others to help against Westbrook. If he figures this out and starts trusting his teammates more we might be in trouble.

Sure. I give you that but neither Durant nor Harden was a veteran back then. Yup were they talented? For Sure.

They had the formula and the Heat had the veteran leadership. OKC never delivered in their only Finals.

Now that Harden, Durant and WB are in their absolute primes, they split.

So yeah from an OKC perspective, sucks but happens.

The problem with Westbrook as he is this season is OKC has no shot of keeping up with teams like Houston

    They don't have the personnel.

They should be focused on defense

    They have the athletes

The number one job of a pg is to set the pace that best fits his teammates.

All rocket fans know this because they are witnessing some of the greatest point guard play ever

paint- Adams, Kanter, Gibson, Sabonis, Grant
shooters- McDermott, Singler, Abrines whatever the fk.

Ya he has no help whatsoever.

That team is loaded. But you have a Coach Brooks 2.0. And just the most egocentric stat padding guard hog to ever play. Mind you the way the bigs concede rebounds for him, and how he camps for rebounds, and also that stat where harden has contested almost 400 more shots than him all season making him a worse defender than Harden. I mean if he couldn't with KD he damn well won't with anyone else haha. The self is first.

That list of shooters is terrible. OKC's biggest weakness all season is lack of shooting around WB.

If you really believe Billy Donovan is Bonehead 2.0, you have no clue.

Their bigs are very good but they won't win the series without production from Kanter.

When Russ is off the court, OKC offense has a 93 rating and the Rockets offense has a 141 rating.

    When he's on, it's 104 and 115.

For comparison, the Rockets have maintained their performance when Harden sits. We have a deep team.

Personally, I think I might believe his claim (see thread title). I see a guy who is trying to do everything all the time on a individual basis. Unfortunately for his team, even a lone superstar has to know how over-zealousness can hurt the team, and he doesn't.

So how much will the NBA be fined for not censoring that clip on NBA.com???

I don't see how you can possibly believe that Durant would still be on the Thunder had Donovan been the coach a year earlier. The playoffs have made it ABUNDENTLY clear why Durant got the hell out of dodge and it had everything to do playing with Westbrook.

Also, Donovan has allowed Westbrook to play this way. He hasn't made a single player on his team better. Donovan also refused to go small in game 1 and was destroyed by D'Antoni. In game 2 he went small and it worked; but then went away from it and lost.

A guy scores 50 points and his team loses? Makes no sense until you realize took 43 shots.

He'll likely be able to reflect back on his amazing statistical season very soon.

So when WOULD Westbrook sit? Like they'd have to build a bigger lead, and then he could sit a bit in the 4th?

Yeah, sorry but that's not exactly a great list of players if you are going against a top 3 seed.

I called Kanter getting abused once the series would start and you are seeing it.

And as A3PO said, those are your shooters?? Yikes!

Rockets have the better system and more importantly players that complement their system.
