Good for Dre. He took his punishment of ruining his image and having a terrible end of his career for acting like an ass on the way out in Houston so now it's time to welcome him back as he retires, hopefully a bit more humble than he left.

Yeah I'm not mad at AJ. He felt like he could still play, be a focal point and the organization obviously knew he was done. We all know it's hard for players to know when to say when, so it's whatever for me. I'm just glad he's retiring a Texan, it's the way it should be.

I was mad at him at the time, but not anymore. Like I said, I feel like he's taken his punishment for his foolish actions and now all is forgiven. I still think it's a shame that he didn't have better people around him to where he'd have made the right decision, but that's in the past.

This is the best move the Texans have ever made. Andre was THE man, and if he were paired with a HOF QB, he wouldve been the greatest to ever play the game. Retire the jersey, put him in the ring of honor, give him a statue (just keep a slot ready for Watt), because he carried this franchise through some hideous teams.

He was here starting from the tough years and was the main offensive weapon (along with Foster) on our best teams.

If Schaub stays healthy those years I think we win a ring.

I would give anything to have a big strong receiver like Andre again!!!!!! He was my favorite receiver in this franchise by a mile. Wow, some of the catches he made over the years were just unreal. He would have torn up the record books if we had a quarterback like Elway, Favre, or Brady when he was on our team. I was amazed he stayed loyal to us as long as he did, and understood why he finally left, with the quarterback shuffle going on in Houston.

If Albert Haynesworth doesn't stomp on Schaubs foot in Tampa we were going to win the superbowl that year. Dude was never the same after that

Am I the only one who thinks he should stick around for another season or two just in case we get lucky?

We have too many good WR's, he wouldn't make the roster out of camp.

I'd like that too. We don't have any big muscular receivers who can muscle guys out. Use him as a slot receiver.

I have a solution that could get him a roster spot, make him the 3rd TE and cut Anderson. That way you aren't wasting a WR roster spot and you would be replacing one big muscular receiver for another.

Agreed! I'd love to give him a couple of years to get a chip with us.

Funny you said that, because that was my other option besides a slot receiver.
