Thought a new thread needed to be made, because
    1. @Jeff wrote this article,
    2. Jeff's reporting makes the other thread's title and nameless "sources" obsolete, and
    3. Despite @J.R. posting this in the other thread, it has become buried and ppl are still reading the old thread title for the first time and assuming it's true.
    Key quote about retirement plans:

Worrell has scaled back a bit this year, calling only home games and a smattering of road games, all in Texas. “It was a grind,” he says of his old schedule. “The travel was killing me.” With his lightened workload, he has no immediate plans to retire; the Rockets, he says, are allowing him to decide when it’s time to step down.

Bill Worrell, Play-by-Play Announcer, on His Iconic Sports Broadcasting Career

This is pretty cool read, and much more than about retirement plans.

Great thread! This is great news too. I think Worrell retires, barring health issues, once we: A) win a trophy, B) we go into rebuilding mode C) Harden is gone (B and C can coincide of course).

Great! And I just got through giving DD a hard time in the other thread because he called for Bill's ouster. I'm very tempted to move that post over here. I have to add that Jeff's one hell of a good writer.

One might say this deserved its own thread?

    Good news.

Was infuriating to hear the rumors of him getting pushed out by Les. Bill is a Rockets legend.

It definitely does. Heypartner said the same thing in the other thread, and I had a feeling he'd start one, proving my theory that 90% of the time a member can find a thread about almost any topic. Far too many threads get started in the GARM that don't need to be. This makes up part of the 10%, sort of. ;)

Wasn't being sarcastic, just repeating a Clutchfans meme.

So what you're saying @heypartner is:

There is no secret plot against Rockets PBP man Bill Worrell

There is no secret, conspiratorial arrangement against one of the team's primary media voices

There is no Rockets' media conspiracy

    I am calling bullsh-t, HP.

Proof = reality. Check the logs if you don't believe
