Eddie Murphy’s older brother Charlie Murphy has died at the age of 57 from leukemia.

The standup comedian, who was also an actor, had been battling the blood cancer and getting treatment at the time of his death, his manager confirmed to TMZ.

Charlie had been going through chemotherapy and died in a hospital in New York.

As well as a successful standup career, Charlie co-starred on Chappelle's Show with Dave Chappelle and Neal Brennan. He also appeared in Are We There Yet, The Boondocks and Black Jesus.

Didn't know he had leukemia, but did notice he had lost a ton of weight since the Chappelle show days.

Very sad, the Rick James skits are legendary.

Sad to hear.

Was a really funny man, his big smile always got me. Loved him on the Chappelle show, did well in some movies and really enjoyed his standup.

Didn't know he was sick, saw him 4 years ago at a comedy club and he looked great, I'm actually surprised he was 57, looked like he was in his early 40's when I saw him.
