    I agree with this assessment.

The scene where she committed suicide affected me more than I was expecting. It was pretty unsettling.

On Episode 5. The format reminds me of that podcast Serial, where the audience knows about the result but pieces together the causes episode by episode. I never finished Serial, and was totally disappointed with the lack of climax when I read the remaining plot on the wiki.

    This I'll probably finish...

I thought it was very good and realistic. The Hanna tub scene really got a strong reaction from me. Just saw it a half hour ago OMG! I knew what was coming but I wasn't prepared for it. Oh man that may be the most emotional scene I've experienced. Just the way they unfolded this story with the tapes, perspectives, time flashes...it was engaging and interesting. Wow.

It was definitely more than your normal teenage angst. Teenage horror and terror.

She cut herself real deep. I was like No, girl!!!!

Just finished watching it. It was ok but definitely felt like a higher budgeted CW show.

Why didn't Hanah report Bryce to the police?
Why did Hanah lie in her tapes(Zack throwing her letter away and Jessica and Alex stop going to the coffee shop)
What did Tyler buy at back ally? guns?
Why did Zack look like a r****d on the basketball court?

Just finished watching, it was ok...

How would they justify a second season? Have that dude who blew off his face take a series (13?) of instagrams?

I wouldn't mind a 2 hr movie to tie up loose ends.

Second season most likely revolves around Tyler, the photographer.

Wife and I finished this up last night. Performances were pretty strong all around especially the leads but just wish they would have given the characters more depth instead of just being types. It was well done but there are some logical holes, like

That party Hanna goes to at Bryce's house. She already knows he's a rapist, why would she stay there especially as it got later and was left alone. Seems like the writers really wanted to hammer home that her life was horrible but that felt pretty inorganic.

Still it was well done if not great, reminded me a bit of a kiddy version of the movie Rules of Attraction......

I think the good thing about this show, like Stranger Things, is that it has gotten people to think, ask questions, and show interest in characters.

    re: any next season:

I wonder if it does focus on a relatively unlikable character like Tyler if it will be as enjoyable a story. One of the strengths of season 1 was you got to like (or care about) Clay and Hannah, and lesser degrees Jessica and Alex. And see the story through Clay's eyes. Will they still do that in Season 2?

It has a lot of Rules of Attraction in it. More than we see in other dramas surrounding Teen angst.

A sort of retro vibe of the 90s with Cassettes is also nice.

I started watching this last night on my TV at home. It is OK so far. I will continue watching. The acting is pretty good regardless of the stereotypes. There may be a season 2, I am not sure. Have great day.

I regret watching this. 13 hours of pure depression. Would not recommend parents letting their children watch this. It's ****ing high school. It happened to all of us but the majority of us got through it. Scarred, yup I did that to some and regret it very much. This was just over the top. Will not watch another season of this wahhhh bullshit.

I couldn't watch "the scene." Absolutely horrific. All I got out of this show was a great soundtrack.

they really did a very sh!tty job of trying to drum up sympathy for Hannah
by the end. . . i did not have much
I felt she made the tapes as revenge . . .
that kind of revenge like the Nerd dreams of coming back the Class Reunion as the rich guy
her last parting shot to make the other kids feel bad and hurt them . . .
    OOOOOO I'm gonna show 'em
Some of the things she blamed people for were a bit of a stretch
and I found her to be an unreliable narrator because of it

I hate how everyone took her word as absolute truth
    esp Clay
She might have had the facts but she warps the context IMO

4 episodes in I started to wonder if Tony was a figment of Clay's imagination.

    I prepared my self
I knew it was coming when they showed the Jacuzzi rape scene.
I thought to myself, if they show this in such detail, no way they skip the suicide.

I'm not a gore/Blood person. it was heartbreaking.
