Maybe a discussion of what should go in the Random Trade thread deserves its own thread? Apparently some posters need help with the concept.

I like Thon Maker, but I view their upside as similar and Capela is already way more polished... also isn't there a strong possibility Thon Maker is like 25 or something??

 

I would trade Anderson for him, being they are both PF's.

Maker isn't a center, and Capela isn't a PF. Makers shot is much better then Capela's. Capela is a much better rebounder then Maker.

If Maker was our starting center we'd have rebounding problems, we also have to wait and see how he fills out. If he's 20 years old and gains 30 pounds of muscle he might be able to hold centers one day on defense, but he might be older and or may not gain any more significant muscle mass.

So still, no. He definitely looks like he's developing into a solid starting player, but Clint's already a solid starting player, and is playing a position of need.

1. why do you feel special that you feel like you can just forever keep bumping a trade idea thread?
   
2. How long are you going to continue with this, when Maker isn't even on the trade block?
3. This thread is from pre-draft June, 2016, when a trade was possible, but the idea still had a place in the Random Idea Thread.
4. You kept bumping a Rubio news thread for like 3 years after the fact. You going to do that with Maker, too?

Right now Capela is a better player but Maker has more potential.

 

People bashed on ABS so hard for making rando ass trade thread when we already had a rando trade idea thread. OP does the exact same thing and the bashing isn't strong at all. We as a community need to be consistent on the bashing folks or not at all.

 

i think part of it is that ABS wrote at a 3rd grade level. You are correct though

not really, he moved to Australia when he was 5, it's a little harder to claim a 10 yo is 5 than claiming a 20 yo is 15.
